What item? Have you checked your Equipment List - it may show item?
Unless you added price protection, nothing stopping a dealer from increasing the cost. I agree it sucks, but should have asked about that when ordering.
I have found with Ram chat....is when they digress on your order...and I call them out on the last Ram chat secession.....they say let me talk with my supervisor or they say I have a better system with more updated information. My question is why aren't they using the better system in the first place...it also is very dependent on who you get....as some are very good at their job and they seem to care...while others are collecting a pay check....at best.
Interested in real world experiences on this as well. Will be checking in with my dealer (mark dodge) when my truck is getting closer to the lot. Sandi said they can coordinate it through them, but curious what kind of prices and delivery times people have actually seen by doing this. I’m in CA btw, so practically cross country from LA.
Missing Trailer Surround View Camera its not on either Equipment list or Window sticker so doesn't seem to be a type-o. Not the end of the world stuff but its my last big towing truck
And, even when the dealer adds price protection, it is to protect the DEALER from any invoice price increase from Ram between the time of order and invoice, NOT the customer. A dealer could still pass on the increase to the customer if they decide they want to.
When you get the truck....physically check the rear bumper plug for the 12 pin connector that powers the Trailer Camera....if it has then its an easy fix with the wiring and camera can be purchased as an accessory. It seems that most trucks that don't order this option still have the wiring on the truck side....and the old 4 pin connector is gone with the 12 pin replacing it.
If it was on your original order paperwork and not on truck, you should be able to cancel and reorder - but be aware some of things in packages may have changed and some features may not be available at this time
I revert back to what @Jimmy07 said in previous post....get it locked in (Ram and the dealer) and bypass the fine print....like my dealer does....been selling new cars since 1967.
Nobody but Ram knows for sure, but the belief is that it probably has something to do with parts availability for your unique configuration. Could be they're low on something specific to your truck. Maybe it's sunroofs or tire pressure sensors or blind spot chips or rambox lids. Or, maybe it's luck of the draw and the plant scheduling program is plugging in certain trim levels to optimize production. Lots of speculation on what's going on, but nothing definitive that explains why they're not running things "first ordered, first built".
It appears Dealer or Computer sets a Priority when order placed - my POC says "Build Priority 01" at bottom - not sure if this really means anything to scheduler - as pointed out parts availability probably has more effect.
