Hello all,

Finally got the approval from the boss to order a new RAM. So when she asked if I knew what I wanted I pulled out my 4 different dream builds. Basically I'm looking to get 2500 Laramie, MC ,Night Edition (Delmonico Red) air ride, 5th wheel prep, surround camera view, and a few other bells and whistles. Little did I know how much of a pain it was going to be getting all these together. As I have seen from a few others here RAM is definitely not playing nice with the mixing and matching of the packages I want. Even though I'm ready to pull the trigger on a lot purchase I'm still holding out to get my dream build in.

Sounds like you are ready for fun. I was confused by the packages too. If you added an option it said you had to pick a package. Then other times if you added an option it deleted a package. When I built the truck online, I had choices of Laramie Package A or B. When I got to the dealer the choices were C & D. Sort of similar, but no option for power folding mirrors. That option was gone from Laramie. I would have needed to jump up to a LongHorn for that option. We wanted 6 passenger seating and that option is not available in LorgHorn. Very confusing.

Very true. Now it’s do I pay more for the limited package and lose out on max payload or go down to big horn and lose out on amenities and have to go cloth seats. Going to wait till RAM opens up the next round of options. RAM chat said they change it up every 30 days. They also said that the online build your RAM is mainly just to match what is already on dealer lots and that the online usually never matches up to the dealer official build sheets.

Ya I feel your pain. It should not be as difficult as it is. I tried to order my 19 back in 18 when the night package was introduced but there was a delay and we wanted to get out of our Rebel POS before winter. So the dealership ordered a Sport and said take it our leave it when it comes. Well it was buil the way we want except for the shiny bits and it had my name on the window sticker so we took it . We love the Mega and the front bench even though nobody will likely sit there.

It seems like they always just about give you the build exactly how we want it. When I went in to order they said they could give me everything I wanted...except the Night Edition which was the main thing I wanted.

I’m new to the forum and am ready to order a 3500 Laramie standard diesel crew cab short bed. Now I have learned it doesn’t come with power folding mirrors unless you order the black accent package. Someone needs to be fired. That’s a must for me because of my single garage.

I am pretty sure they have some guy blindfolded at HQ throwing darts at a wall of sticky notes with available options setting their packages.

It looks like there are some aftermarket options, but to spend $1,700 plus on a DYI job after just buying a brand new vehicle seems like a crime.

They don’t even show power folding mirrors on a limited addition, just ordering the night addition that has nothing to do with power mirrors. It has to be a ploy to make you spend money. Unbelievable. Very disappointing with Dodge. I might have to consider another brand.
