2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I called a dealer who had a 2022 on their lot to inquire about the FFP. He said that Chrysler had just done away with it. The next day I contacted 2 other dealerships and they said that was not the case, the dealer was likely trying to take advantage of the times and make more money to someone who didn’t qualify. My 2022 is on order and I was priced with the FFP.
Just checked, as of 10-1-21 HD vehicles are eligible for FFP prices.

I have a question about this. Why not wait and use the tires on the truck and when they need to be replaced, then buy tires? I could just be a tightwad as it relates to these types of things.

Now, I do have a set of all tires that I put on during the snow and hunting season but pretty much use the original tires until they need to be replaced
I’ll be swapping my Night editions 20’a for a set of 285 75 18 discovery at3 for the increase in the load rating(4080) I’m going to be pushing what the stock tires are rated for (3450 I think) with my fifth wheel and the bed loaded up. Going with the bronze method 305 hd. Will probably order this week as it looks like it’s end of November to possibly January to get them right now.

Everyone has stock wheels in my area so I like to be different also it’s winter time here we get snow stock tires are crap no traction so I won’t even leave the dealer with them on

Just heard from dealer. Said truck is built and ready to be shipped. Probably mid December arrival to NJ. Ordered in June. Laramie with Cummins and sunroof.
Curious as to where in NJ you are. My build was to be loaded onto rail on 11/5 with a delivery or 11/26 - 12/1. Mid December actually seems more realistic to me.

I wait till Tuesday morning every week for my favorite line.....

"Thank you so much for holding. I am showing that your order is in the scheduling phase of the manufacturing process. The parts required to build the vehicle are being scheduled and as soon as they available and ready, order will be scheduled for build. Currently no Dealer ETA has been provided."

I still know my TRX vin in my head from months of this before... Now I just put this information in notepad to be copied and pasted..

Just wanted to Check the status of my order

Haven’t gotten my ‘22 ram 3500 SRW yet, but I can definitely assure you that a ’18 Ram 3500 SRW Cummins will do triple digits upon request.
Yeah, I assume it would/should. It’s got to do something with ford trying to save people from themselves. If there excuse is their heavy duty commercial tow rated tires then they should have given those folks a heads up.

It is just an F-450 thing. I was watching a similar video of a couple doing a comparison between the F-450 and their old Ram 3500. That is the first time I heard about it. Ford limits the F-450 due to the 19.5’s on it. They figured you would go “Back To The Future” if speed exceeded the 88mph threshold.
Yep, that’s what I saw too. Well I don’t do ford anyway but this is just another reason not to. That couple makes a good point about why you should be able to.

Since we have lots of trucks that have delivered now, I was wanting to see if someone with a similar build could get me payload and max towing numbers off their truck. I'm a 3500 SRW HO Crew Cab 4x4 Rambox fully loaded with air suspension. Appreciate any help!

Just pick one that’s got a window sticker on the spreadsheet and punch in the vin on rams site. My 3500 MC HO is 3882.5 if I remember correctly

Recheck the Spreadsheet - a Limited SRW HO CC Eq List showed up yesterday - previous was 10/14.
It looks to me like 3500 HO CC SRW are one of fastest recently - 8 Eq Lists and 4 Window Stickers since 11/6 - 2 BigHorns, 5 Laramies, 1 Limited
Sounds like a special truck :)

Just wait until the new infrastructure bill gets signed. By 2026 all new vehicles will have a bunch of new “features”. Some to detect drunk driving, some to promote safe driving... could get some weird and potentially unwanted tech added to vehicles in the near future.

This is mine from the ram website by VIN. The only thing I am missing would be the Rambox so it should be close to the same. I also have the 50 gal tank and 5th wheel prep which reduces payload somewhat.

A good point, but the Firestones at least the base SRW Firestone HT tires don't have a very good reputation as to performance. Nor do the Nexens on the DRW trucks. And some of the chromed steel wheels just dont have the look of a $70-80k truck. Lots of people seem to want to customize wheels with larger tires and/or better off road tires than the Firestone AT tires. Once you get stuck in the mud with the OE Firestone AT tires on a truck this heavy, you are stuck - I speak from experience.

If you are dealing with a tire dealer, they typically will offer you $70 a tire for near new takeoffs and just plain dont want the OE wheels - at least that was response to me. But if you can sell the takeoffs (ebay, Facebook, CraigsList, etc. or know a buddy with an older 2500/3500 or F250/F350), it becomes a more interesting option. I have seen sets of tires / wheels go $1200 - or sets of 18" wheels go $450-$600 and sets of tires $600 - or 20" $800 and $800.

If you can get $200 per tire on a set of 20" Firestones and replace them for $300 per tire with something better, its probably worth it.

Wheels however are not as good a trade at $75 ea steel or $150 ea Aluminum vs $350+ ea new. Personally I am looking for a set of 18 inch Aluminum OE takeoff wheels off a Longhorn preferably or a Laramie - have seen Laramie 18" takeoffs for $450-700 a set on ebay, but for now holding out for Longhorn.

But overall its a matter of tradeoffs and personal choice.

I got this in email from RAM (Jeff):
“Good news! I presently show your order is progressing through the build phases of production and is presently being built. I estimate your order should be completing these initial build steps soon before moving into the next production phases shortly thereafter.”
No build sheet yet. I don’t remember if a build sheet is ready when truck is being built or on a later stage.

RAM chat confirmed my truck is in Framing phase, it is getting hot.

Central Jersey. My truck was supposed to have a ship date of 11/3 but didn't get confirmation that it's getting shipped until yesterday.
