I bought my 2019 2500 Laramie off the lot, so couldn't get it just the way I wanted. After taking my other vehicle - with adaptive cruise control - on a long trip, I got to wondering if anyone has added adaptive cruise control to their truck.

What is required? Does Ram have a package for it?

I'd trade in for a Limited, but they no longer have Blue Streak Pearlcoat.

Hmm, haven't heard of the blue streak pearl coat before. Is it a brighter or darker blue? I'm not sire if the ACC is both a hardware & software upgrade, I would think some of it has to do with what sensors are already on the truck. Would be awesome if it was just an AlfaOBD upgrade! I'm in for answers on this one

Has been done before by members on this forum, and yes it is more involved than just AlfaOBD settings. There are posts/threads about it on the forums. I believe it requires the DASM but I could be wrong.

Can be done though which is the main thing.

FWIW, ACC on the 2019's aucks IMO. Hope its better on the 2022 I ordered. It was way too sensitive and would slam on the brakes very hard when I switched lanes from an open lane to one with a car in front of me.

I would recommend driving a truck that already has it to see if its even something you like before wasting any time, money, or effort into something you don't like.

For the record, yes I know there is a distance adjustment, and yes I know its supposed to slow down if a car infront of you is going slower. However the brakes would activate way too hard for my taste.

You’ll need the driver assistance system module (DASM), which mounts on the windshield. This means you need the correct windshield, too, since it has the mounting studs molded into it, heating element, and “window” in the frit pattern that it’s camera radar looks through. You also need a different rear view mirror, which now mounts to an adapter on the DASM. Then there’s the new mirror jumper harness with all the required connectors for the DASM, mirror, camera heater, etc. This jumper plugs into the connector on the passenger side dash below the a-pillar. The instrument panel side of this connector is already populated with all of the necessary circuits. The ABS module and hydraulic control unit also need to be replaced with the correct ones capable of adaptive cruise. And, finally, after you use AlfaOBD to make the settings changes in the BCM, you’ll have to take it to the dealer to have the DASM calibrated, since AlfaOBD isn’t capable of that procedure.

Sounds like a pain for little gain
