Hi all,
First time diesel owner. I purchased a 2019 2500 Cummins SRW the weekend before Christmas and have about 1500 miles on it so far. I'm not sure if I wasn't aware of this at first, or if it developed later, but around 1000 miles I became aware of a slight vibration in the steering wheel, pedals, and center console while the truck is idling; regardless of whether it is in park or drive. As soon as the RPM's go up, the vibration goes away. It's a very light vibration, oscillating at the same frequency as the engine RPM. Is this normal? I've done a lot of searching and don't see anything related to this in any posts for the newer gen RAMs. I've seen some posts on older RAMs that involved the injectors, oil pan touching the frame cross bar, worn or broken motor mounts, etc.

Just curious if others can feel this vibration. Thanks.

I can't speak to what others may have experienced, but...yeah...it's pretty normal with a diesel. I have owned diesel trucks for the past 20 years and every single one of them had a slight vibration at idle. You actually get used to it after a while initially. That being said...get it checked out by service at your dealership if it continues to bug you or gets worse. Cheers!

Thanks Mark, will do.

Coming from a Duramax I notice the same thing. My Duramax was smoother.

The Cummins is a tall-deck, long-arm, commercial truck engine being used in a pickup truck. It will never be as smooth as the grocery getter V-8s. That's how truck engines run.
