I was under the impression that if the anti spin rear differential option was ordered that it would have a button that controls it, similar to a locker. Was I wrong in my thinking and it is just a more heavy duty/ beefed up posi unit? Is there more information about that option I can find somewhere or someone could be kind enough to post for me. For some reason I had thought there was a button to be pressed by the 4wd controls?

No button. It's not an E-locker like you can option for on the 1500. Not avail on HD trucks. The anti-spin works like a limited slip diff. It does work great. Open diffs until a wheel slips then it sends toque to the wheel with grip. Similar to a torsen.

Edit: PW is the only HD with push button lockers.

A limited slip rear end is an automatic engagement. It is not like a manual locker. If the drive wheel starts to spin, it kicks in to help regain traction, but not as substantial as positive traction.

It’s limited slip differential, not a locker. Fully mechanical, no buttons or controls. Clutch type LSD.

Clutch type?? I hope not. Expecting it to still be Torsen style. Same as it is in my 2006‘s 11.5” AAM.

The Power Wagon has the torsen gear LSD with the E locker. E locker is in both axles.

Not sure if that's available on the other 2500 models.

Expect differently then.
2019+ HDs with LSD are clutch pack type, except in Power Wagon

Good to know since it will require the LSD friction modifier additive now.

Any ideas why they change styles? Torsen style always seemed better to me in that they don’t wear and become less effective over time. Not sure I would really notice a difference in day to day driving, though.
