My PW died.

The electronics in the cab were all working while we were driving and then after the engine stalled out. So maybe it's something else or if the alt died everything was still pulling off the battery. But for me years ago when I had the alt fail it killed the battery with it. Of course that was a very different vehicle. Still awaiting word from the dealership.
I have only seen a few where the alt took out the battery but that was from overcharging, usually the alt wont take the battery with it

Dealership has blown me off this morning and not gotten back to me despise leaving two messages. Finally he said he should get it looked at within the next hours. So frustrated. A buddy of mine has a 1500 which had a blown wiper motor. One dealership told him it would take several weeks to get the part and repair the truck. He did find another dealership which took a couple of days to fix it.

Update: the service dept called me and told me they found one or more of the wires to the injectors has been chewed through by something (Squrriels). They haven't finished the inspection for any other damage and are looking at the codes. So apparently the nut propelled rodents got into the engine bay to feast on wires...

I've replaced a few of those on some Nissan Zs. None of them produced a gravel sound as a symptom. That's the only thing that makes me nervous for the OP.
The gravel sound could have been detonation knocking as a result of the cps failure

Dang! Will insurance cover that?

Oh damn!! Ungood

that has happened 2X to my daughter's 2017 honda civic. Dealer told her they get those in all the time because apparently the wire coating now is soybean based which attracts rodents. She parks on a black top parking lot so not like out in the country. After the first time they told her they wrapped the wires in some kind of rodent repellent tape but it still did not work. Some say mint oil will help but others say nothing does...

We see it all the time at work. Toyota products seem to be a favorite of the rodents. Nasty things....

Damn, that's becoming all too common.

Bastards ate the wires on my backup genset last winter.

So the PCM is also shot. Possibly shorted out once the wires were chewed through. They took it for a test drive and she was running rough, plus error codes. Will know more tomorrow.
