Going to change my front & rear differential fluids as well as the transfer case soon. Owners manual states the correct fluids to use, but I am having a hard time finding capacities anywhere.
Anyone have a link?
I bought 7 quarts and only ended up using 6 between the front and rear. Perhaps the lsd and e-lockers in the Power Wagon take up a bit more space than a regular truck.
Spec is Fill to bottom of fill hole +/- 1/4”.
If you have LSD Rear you need to add a friction modifier since it’s clutch pack LSD now (2019+ HDs except Power Wagon)
I just looked in my manual. It says non power wagon rear ends should be filled 4/5” +\- 1/4 below the fill hole. Front is 1/4” below +\- a 1/4”.
It’s fairly important not to fill right up to the fill hole line as it usually puts fluid up right at the level of the axle seals resulting in eventual leaks.
