2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Based on this morning's spreadsheet update, it looks like the Limited Longhorns are next up to be built. I saw that several LLs with order dates from the very end of July now have build sheets. I'm still waiting for my 6/17/21 Laramie MC HO build sheet to populate. In hind sight, I wish I had kicked in a few grand extra to get a Limited - I would probably have it by now.

Im not even going to inquire of status of my 05/07 order today because I know what I will be told... still gathering parts I am sure. I have a feeling that I ordered every part that is associated with any type of delay (except BSM).
Regardless of what you have on your build that is causing delays, yours should have been built. They have built out fully optioned trucks way after our orders. It’s insanity at this point.

Ive been told for the last two months that all the parts have been gathered and production will begin shortly.

Ordered mine 6/29 and had a vin within a week or two. The vin’s seem to come on pretty quickly based on the posts being added in this thread. It’s getting over that road block of D and D1 status and into actual production that’s the hold up. Today marks 75 days for me and I’m still D1 and waiting. There are still folks who ordered months before me that have made less progress. There really isn’t any appreciable logic to it.

Ordered 5-18, got vin #102294 June 3rd, D status June 3rd, 145 days later and it's still D status. No end in sight. This is unacceptable but what can you do???

Well one step closer! Finally in JS status. Ordered 7/30, built 10/9. Still no equipment listing though

It looks like yours took 24 days to go from D1/Gatelined to production. I'd be curious if that is the norm. That gives me some additional perspective regarding D1 date vs actual build date. I have been in D1 status for about 21 days.

It's random, no pattern.

I know I’ll catch hell for this, but to me a 2500 is a stepping stone to a 3500. Would have been a waste for me, the payload wasn’t much more than my 1500 was. I owned 1 2500 and only for a few months and stepped up to a 3500. Then I was out of the towing game for some years so had a 1500.
Not sure how this turned out but you are probably stuck with the 2500. If your dealer is decent, they may receive your 2500, sell it, and then you can order a 3500. But then you are back of the line again. Dealers cannot get enough trucks, your 2500 will sell. The difference in price between the 2500 and the 3500 for my build was 1350.00. So you should have went with the 3500 upfront. Dealers around my area are adding about 5,000.0 to the MSRP and still selling their trucks as fast as they can get them in so good luck.

I ordered my 3500 6.7HO on August 7th, production started on the 9th, I was in D1 by the end of the first week. I called the dealer on Oct 1st and they said the truck is on a train and in transit. Not sure how they are prioritized but I was "told" it had to do with the trim level and options requested. Mine is a Tradesman SRW. I don't need a parking lot princess and my wife never rides in the truck so.... I use it as a "truck". You add all the fancy options, the price goes up and the parts shortage kicks in. good luck.

My 2500 Limited Longhorn diesel was built on 10/5/21. I ordered on 6/25/2021. Scheduled ship date is 10/19/21. I don't expect to see it until at least the beginning of November.

I agree however, sold orders have ALWAYS had priority over dealer stock and I haven't heard anything official that dealer stock is the new priority. I get that dealers need to earn a living with stock on their lots....and truthfully that's how Ram makes money too. But what really get's my blood pressure up is when a dealer (over a 1,000 miles away) orders 20 trucks (4 are exactly the same options as my July 1st order) and ALL were ordered 6 weeks after mine (1 week after the plant opened to build '22's). All 20 are built and in an in-transit status to the dealers lot. I don't think many of them (if any) are sold orders as they are all pretty much in sequential order.....because that's how dealers order they order them in batches. When I see this the first thing I think is that what chip shortage or other shortages for that matter?.....4 trucks ordered after mine all the same options to go sit on a lot so a dealer can make monthly payments when they have many SOLD orders (on the tracker from this forum) that are taking a back seat to.....its just a little hard to swallow. Ok, I'll be patient and I'll suck it up, get off my soap box and take a seat now.
I wish that "sold orders have ALWAYS had priority over dealer stock" was true. Sadly however, I have had other experiences with FCA. October 1 2014 ordered and paid 5K deposit on 2015 Hellcat. August 2015 (10 1/2 months later) was notified they (FCA) decided to decline my order but would give me a discount equal to the price increase of the 2016's if I would like to reorder. Ordering dealer had provided VIN at time of order. Two other time since then I have had issues along the same lines. Different dealers on all occasions. So in my mind it really is a crap shoot as to IF/When my truck will be delivered.

Not exactly. I’ve had 2500 Limited MC ordered since 6/21 with no hint of even being built

I think you misunderstood my post

Ordered 7/13. Still D status. Still waiting on parts according to Ramchat this morning. I traded in my 2019 Ram 1500 when I ordered since trade in values were really high this summer and I was told it would be 10-12 weeks until I got the new truck. Since it doesn't look like I'll have it before winter I just put continental extreme contact tires on my daily driver.

so that last part to me is why they would be doing their dealership the most service by building sold orders first. The dealer network would be getting paid as soon as the truck showed up to their lot…not sitting around a week on the lot waiting for a buyer. I know it’s not business breaking, but there are still loan carry costs for that week.
Sold orders are like money in the bank - inventory orders sold are like a bonus - cant get bonus unless you have inventory.
But not good for FCA reputation to leave all the early sold orders on hold - they should take the sold order spreadsheet off this list (400+ vehicles - could do in 1 day) and prioritize in order of VIN - it would make a lot of points with those with potentially loudest voices.
