2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I mean as in, you click this and it does one thing, and click it again and it either does nothing or changes what it does. I’m very much computer savvy and know how UConnect works, it’s just buggy as in, 1 sec it works and the next it does something you don’t want it to do. Apply CarPlay for example, the overlay changed its positioning multiple times, switching fm channels would go forward than back on its own, couldn’t connect back to Apple CarPlay after getting out for dinner and coming back. So just stuff like that. It’ll all work out I’m sure, just needs constant updates over the next 6 months probs lol
Bummer, I’ve got one on the way, hate to see all the problems with it. I like big screens, I cannot lie……

It’s expected dude. Every car I’ve got has small issues with it. Never had a “perfect” car that I got in that sense. It’s like, I’ve been saying with my defender, it could leave me on the side of the road, I’d still love it. Haha

People will not drive across the Country to get service work done but they will to save a few thousand when they purchase their vehicle!
I can not blame the local dealer if they will not fix the UC5 problem if it is only going to pay about a 1/2 hour in warranty. No doubt, if you
would have purchased the truck from your local dealer, they would have been more than willing to fix the problem.
Actually I believe warranty says they are supposed to honor warranty regardless of where you bought new.
Otherwise, you could never drive it far from home - I had a problem with my 2500 in Illinois and dealer initially said they could not fit me in, but after talking to service manager they got me in the next day - delayed getting home to Louisiana by a day. Same thing happened on F250 in Wisconsin with a 30 ft gooseneck with 2 antique tractors attached - dealer even worked with place across street so I could drop trailer - but that was 10 years ago.
Local Ford dealer is more of a PITA - even though all $ervice was done by them by the book, they never could seem to cut me a break on 3 major issues that should have been covered by warranty including replacing sticking brake calipers at 30k miles and the 6.0 diesel fiasco at 101k miles. And if you figure it, they made more on 10 years of my Service than they would on selling a new vehicle particularly with Ford's 2005 Employee Pricing. If local Ford dealer had been like the one in Green Bay, I would have probably bought another Ford in 2015.

Wait that’s at Dan Cummins isn’t it? Shoot me a dm please, picking up mine from them tomorrow.
givemethevin originally offered $20-22k, carmax offered me 25k. Sent a picture of that offer to givemethevin and they bumped their offer up to $25,250. Not earth shattering money, but they did go over carmax. This was for a 2014 Sierra 1500 with 100k miles on it. KBB says the trade value is $24-27. Have been trying to sell privately for about a month with no success. My state (VA) does not offer a tax break for trade-ins.
Carmax offered me less than the dealership did for trade in and givemethevin less than carmax did even after I sent them the price from them. Both were way less than kbb price and I have a 2016 Silverado 1500 with only 69,000 miles on it and it’s in great condition.

Well you guys are gonna love this pic, but yeah been driving or at the dealer for 16 hours. Finally just got home. Love the thing. First impressions, it’s awesome. The did they flash update for the TSB yesterday but of course UConnect 5 is still super buggy but its whateves (OTA anyways). Steering wheel seems a little aligned to the right but I’ll check it out and sort it if I need to. Also some minor glass scratches on the instrument cluster glass, very strange but they said just bill them and they’ll take care of it. Dealer and my salesperson were great. Info is on the right side of that doc. Got $1,095 off which isn’t bad for nowadays plus $50k on our trade (a 2020 2500 w/ 14.5k miles on it). Decided on leasing it, was over $600 cheaper per month vs financing, and $100 cheaper than our old payment on our trade. Put down $20k of our trade, and got back over $9,400 back as an equity check; the rest of the $50k was payoff on their end. Interest was about 2.4-2.6%, can't remember (leasing is money factor anyways); through U.S. Bank. Just setup my iPhone 13 Pro 2 days ago, so the pics are lit. But yeah lemme know what ya guys think and if ya have any questions.

10,000 miles/year? I put that on in 6 months just driving to and from work. Maybe one day

I see a lot of you upgrading to the 22 from 20’s and 19’s. I’m coming from a 19 my self. What’s some of the reasons for the upgrade? I’m actually thinking of leasing this time. Since I don’t hold on to my truck for long.

2020 Ram Rebel gasser back to a 2022 megacab 2500 Cummins. Just because I miss the Cummins and love the cab space. Just going full circle.

My 1st guess is the CP4. Then it’s probably UC5 and then they just upgrade all the time so probably no reason at all just a habit.
Oh thought of another one, people getting more money now for their used truck then they paid for it new, why not trade in.

That was also another reason for my upgrade. Although I probably could have got more for my truck. I like the upgraded safety features. And jumped up to a Laramie. I don’t drive my truck much. Only had 7300 on my 19. What is CP4?

Google CP4. It’s an injection pump that Ram went with for 2019,2020 trucks and discontinued it very quickly.
All big three manufacturers were using it and now it’s down to only one (Ford). It’s a time bomb that will wipe out the whole fuel system if it fails.

Ohh that’s the Bosch injector pump? I remember hearing something about that. Didn’t really know it was in issue in my 19

Let me guess? You would rather pay $5000. over the full price local? Then still have a dealer that sucks? Thats what I would have had local. Plus my dealer told me he did not blame me. If it were him, and saving around $9000. He had no issues driving 8 hours.
Plus told us they would still be happy to work on it where ever it was bought. But would rather have our Great Grand Son that's only 3. Do the work over that dealers service center. They screw up changing oil changes. Less on doing anything that takes brains.
I used to be one of those that bought local. But now our local dealer. Owns 95% of all dealerships within 100 miles. Even people that buy there. Will drive 2 hours or more. To not go in for service.

But then again I'm just one of those dump people that needs to save cash. On a truck I'm paying cash for. But not paying more then its worth. While financing thus paying more on top of the SCREWjob your taking local.

Also our truck is going to travel with us. So no local dealer 95% of the time.

It’s for my mom and our 2 farms. My dad did 15k a year for his Genesis, and I did 15k a year for my Land Rover. we just got both this year, so all new cars for us in 2024 if we want lol. But yeah it’s a gasser, she doesn’t drive all that much and usually at 50mph or below, so regen and low mileage can be an issue. She’s not a, “I drive 50k miles a year in my Cummins” kind of person . But the dealer is Dan Cummins, so wonder if people will be like, “WAIT IS THAT A CUMMINS?!”, because of the sticker on the back. Lol

It’s the way to go for sure cuz of the market, I mean paying $600 a month more for a longer term, just didn’t make sense. Like obvi you’ll have more paid off and can use that to your advantage, but you still have to find a good offer on your car to sell or trade it, paying more interest over time, etc etc. But normally, HD’s are pretty uncommon to lease, because people use them as work trucks. But even if we did several thousand dollars in damage that had to be fixed before giving it back to them, it’s still way cheaper to lease.
