no he just has lots of money to play with. He is actually a financial planner lol. He bought a new camaro on July 31st and just sold it back to the chevy dealership for what he paid..same dealership. He paid $60K for his PW (I set the deal up the RAM dealer GM is my neighbor) and he sold it to a used car buyer outfit (Northwest Motorsport) for $63000. He does not take loans on them so it is easy to get into a new vehicle when the one you trade or sell is paid off and worth top dollar. Not what I would do but he has done that since I have known him going on 25 years. He was even worse with motorcycles.
The state must love the registration and associated fees he provides.

actually I believe that. I know many people who trade vehicles often. I do myself and I have a good buddy that has had at least 5 duramx's and 2 rams in the last 6 years. He just sold his 2020 PW that he had for 11 months and bought a new 2022 duramax. he had a 2019 Ram 3500 that he only had for a couple months before trading that on a 2020 duramax and he traded a 2019 duramax on the 2019 Ram 3500. He likes swapping out vehicles.
I am not questioning the new vehicles every 2-3 years as I fell into that category for a while.

My challenge is that if they had truly owned ALL trim levels in both platforms they'd have needed to be swapping yearly at a minimum.

There are 9 trim levels in the current 1500 alone. Then you add in those that have gone away over the last 20 years, then add in the 2500s and it just doesn't add up.

Someone I know a few tiers up in our company flips an exotic every 18 months or so for more then he paid for it.

Tax and registration would kill me here in CA. Even if I traded my truck in for what I paid I would lose 7K on the deal. And here you don't offset your tax by the value of your trade-in either. Times that by two or three with an exotic

He's in AZ so I don't think that's such an issue. Besides, the dude is loaded and DGAF. He's part owner in that new track/garage condo outfit in Phoenix.

New track/garage condo outfit? What is this?

probably but luckily Montana is not terrible on registration. my 2020 PW were $483 and no sales tax in the greatest state of Montana..
I just sent a check for over $900 for my second year of registration to Kalifornia.

You ever notice how many of the exotics and million dollar motorhomes you see all have Montana plates? People get LLC's in Montana to beat their states sales tax and registration fees.

Don't feel bad. I paid 13 thousand in sales tax on my truck in Ontario, Canada and then paid all the registration stuff which was also taxed. Oh yeah, we have to somehow pay for our "free" health care system.

Never quite understood why someone unhappy with their ownership experience joins a forum full of enthusiasts to post a rant.
