I need a truck to carry my Kimbo Camper. 1800 pounds fully loaded with my stuff.
Going to get a Ram 2500. Looked at one yesterday. Has tie down loops at each corner
of the bed on the bottom sides. Anyone know if these are connected to the frame
so I can use them for tie down anchors for the camper? Dealership is clueless and Google search
has been fruitless. Thanks

The bed tie downs are NOT up to that task, IMHO. They’re definitely not connected to the frame.

@ramblinChet installed frame mounted camper tie downs on his rig.

Somebody here a while back posted a pic of a fifth wheel chain that was hooked to the bed tie downs (mistakenly) and they ripped the bed tie downs out of the bed when they turned and pulled the chains tight

Edit: here it is

holy ****. Thanks.

You need torklift.

I hear ya. I've been trying to figure out how to use them for the past 3 weeks. The tie down anchors on the camper are on the front and back instead of the sides as is customary. A shop in town has attached anchors to the frame through the truck bed so I think that's my only option.

Hole saw and some heavy duty turnbuckles and you’re in business
