Cannot clear this message…ideas?

From other posts around the interwebz, it sounds like that is part of an over the air update to your Uconnect. If the update completes successfully it should go away. If not, you may have to perform a reset.
I’m guessing the directions for the reset are in the manual? Otherwise do you have a quick answer… I appreciate the feedback

Unfortunately they're not.

I've not tried either, but I've seen two procedures that people have reported on the net.

1. Turn off the engine
2. press the ignition button twice (Run and not ACC mode)
3. Simultaneously press the power and tuning knobs for at least 20 seconds.
4. Let go of the buttons and wait. The Uconnect will re-start.

1. Turn off engine
2. Press ignition button once (ACC mode)
3. Hold VR and Phone buttons for 30 seconds
4. Turn off vehicle
5. Open driver door for 30 seconds

Wow. Great info. I’ll give it a shot. Thank you.

Was your phone plugged in via USB when this happened?

I've seen it happen a few times on my truck, and what I've narrowed down is that it occurs when you're phone is plugged in, you have messages shared with UCONNECT, and you receive messages. I've since unshared messages, moreso because they are damn near useless anyways (have to check my phone to read/reply), and haven't had it happen in longer than the times it has happened since I've owned the truck.

I also found that it goes away on it's own if the truck sits off for a few hours. For example, the last time I saw it was when I was driving out to a fishing spot. It was gone by the time I got back to the truck to go home.

And the good news is, it's seemingly common. There are also a ton of really stupid things people online think it is, such as a virus, lol. My guess, based on the name and file type, is it's just a bug that tries to download and install a package (jar files are basically zip files full of Java files) that the system already has or whatever, and then hangs up because it quite literally doesn't know what the hell to do. I'm also assuming, again based on the name, that this jar is related to the literal pop-up you see on-screen when you receive a message on your phone.

Yes my phone was plugged in as it always is so I can use Apple CarPlay.

My guess would be you also have messages shared as well. Try turning that feature off, I think it's under the bluetooth settings but don't quote me on that, and seeing how it goes. Hell, before you do that, plug it in and have someone fire off a few messages to you. See if you can get the text to reappear first!

I do have to say though, I don't plug my phone in all that much so there is the off chance that I've just been lucky since I did that. But I don't think so.

Worst case, you're in the same boat you are today.
