2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Hello all, Aside from the Newbie introduction this is my first post. I've been reading all the information being exchanged on this Forum and it's great. I ordered my 2500 on July 14, 2021 and today I was told that it was in transit from the plant. It was suppose to have shipped on or around August 23rd and they gave an estimate of September 17th for it to arrive in Baltimore but I'm not holding my breath. Aside form having a plain KZ for the status that is all I have at this point. It is a simple build, kind of like me. No frills just what I need to do what it is intended for with a little bit of comfort and looks. It's a Tradesman crew 4x4 with the Cummins in Olive Green. Tradesman level 2 package, Snow Chief Group, Chrome Appearance and Bed Utility Group. I was actually surprised when I was contacted and told it shipped as I was expecting longer delays but I guess all the thoughts on this thread related to the number of bells and whistles and the correlation with build times and delays is true. I'll post when I hear something else concrete. Good luck everyone.
I'm from Baltimore and I was told my truck shipped today. Sounds like they are on the same train. I got a basic Tradesman 3500 diesel crewcab 4x4 in black.

Not everyone but a lot did. I sold my truck local and plan to fly down to Mark dodge and drive back. Plane ticket, fuel, and hotels will be less than $1k for me in NC. So for me its worth the hassle for the extra savings, plus I could use a good road trip.
Your forgetting the extra in sales tax that you’re going to need to pay since you don’t have a trade.

This benefit varies from state to state. Some states have you pay sales tax on the full purchase price of the new vehicle regardless of whether or not you trade a vehicle towards it.

I'll be the guy to ask lol. What did you hate so much about it?

1. Always having to double pump to get a full tank of gas.
2. Was fast for a truck, but not faster than anything else. I’ve had all the fast American cars, so this just felt pointless.
3. Because it’s a flashy vehicle. I felt bad treating it like a truck. So always had to wash it.
4. Gas mileage. Ok, I knew it was going to be bad. But 7 mpg towing and a tiny 30 gallon tank. Your getting gas every couple of hours. Especially problematic on long stretches where gas stations are few and far between.
5. I’m older and like peace and quite. That exhaust was annoying. Made 100x worse when I put a retractable tonneau cover on. The resonance was ridiculous. 78 decibels cruising down the freeway.
6. With the fender flares, if you even looked at a gravel road that was damp, the entire side of your truck was brown. Being that I travel roads that that several times a week. That sucked.
7. I put 4K miles a month on a truck. And was paying an extra $700+ a month in fuel over my 19 2500 Limited. Plus higher insurance. Just felt like I was literally throwing money away for something I hated.

So jumped at the chance to unload it at 3k less than I paid for it and order a new 22!

Fair enough. I feel like those are all reasons that you transition to from being a young wild person to a wiser more responsible individual lol. #4., 5. and 6 would be problems for me as well haha

No power fold tow mirrors, no tech package... Unless I read it too fast.

If you trade your vehicle into the same dealer that you bought your new one from you pay the sales tax on only the difference. If you sell your vehicle outright and buy a new vehicle you pay sales tax on the full amount.

Agree. They’re both awesome. Sandi has repeatedly told me to “check back in 2-3 weeks”. So that’s what I usually do. Just a quick email…. “When you have a minute…no rush…anytime next week is fine…can you check if there is an update to the estimate ship date?”
Did you order the truck from her?

The same dealer you buy the new vehicle from has nothing to do with it. Some states vary with the trade in allowance on sales tax. For example, I’m in Illinois, and no matter how much my trade in is worth, I can only get a sales tax credit for $10,000 max. If I purchase a $50,000 vehicle from mark dodge in Louisiana, and trade my truck in to them, they will reciprocate to Illinois my sales tax on a $40,000 vehicle sale price.

Nice seeing dealer stock getting built before customer orders. I have almost the same build and mine is sitting at D for the past 4 months with no end in sight. vin# NG104863.

Maybe it was a cancelled order. As we can see from this thread, people get restless and move on.

Not in CA.

As has been said, this differs by state. Not everyone has a full tax advantage on a trade.

I would have called it quits if I still had my last truck, but I already sold it, so I am truckless and forced to wait a this point. Plus, I am not willing to go back to the end of the line and start over with Ford or Chevy when they have the same delays.

D1 status as of today. Est ship 9/23
Ordered 6/15
NG107402
3500 Laramie Mega SB SRW 6.7SO
Ordered 2 weeks before that same truck with the HO. Just hearing crickets over here.

hopeful since we are starting to see more movement they start cranking them out. My new fifth wheel should arrive first week of October. No way to tow it now.

Fortunately for me, I'm not getting the 5th wheel until sometime early next year. But I feel you, I wish there was some rhyme or reason to their process. Hopefully you get good news soon.

That’s encouraging… I’m about 4 weeks behind you order wise with a well equipped 3500 Laramie Mega DRW 6.7HO
Mine is also well equipped (w/sunroof). I pretty much ordered a Limited in a Laramie. I wanted every option minus the Limited price, which was around 10k more..no thanks
