2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I just found out my Limited is through frame and paint. The 9/6 build date I found out about last week actually held! I am utterly shocked and happy.

Seems like a decent deal if you like Ford. If there is anything you don’t like about that truck you will kick yourself later about it but that is just human nature. You just have to ask yourself if 3k more is worth having a truck “now” to you.
Personally I am not brand loyal to one brand but my family has had several horrible experiences with Ford vehicles reliability wise in my life and you could not pay me 10k to own one.

I 100% agree you will kick yourself if you dont like something. I am on my 3rd truck in 2 years because i settled for something 2x in a row and the used market allowed me to correct my mistake both times

This is exactly right. I could order a Ford or Chevy and possibly get it sooner. But I like the Ram for the interior and it’s overall the better truck IMHO. I would kick myself everyday for the next 7 years if I went with the Ford because it might deliver quicker.

Ready for flames --- conundrum: local dealer yesterday offered an in-stock 2021 F-250 Lariat 7.3L at 8% below sticker. Nice truck, very comparable to my order 2022 2500 Laramie 6.4Hemi with all the Tech ( LevelB/SafetyGroup/TowTech/SnowChief/OffRoad/BedUtility/BodyColorBumpers) I ordered on 12 July. The F-250 has everything but the adaptive cruise and heated rear seats - but adds panoramic sunroof, steps, 20"wheels. My Ram deal is also good and about 9% less then sticker. Overall price difference is about $3k more for Ford. The catch is F-250 is "now" - and giving full amount for my trade with a good discount. My Ram dealer mentioned yesterday my trade has probably decreased about $1k from order date and seems no one has an idea on when a tech optioned Laramie might get built. So my trade value decreasing the longer I wait starts to make up the difference in price.

I'm coming from a Chevy Silverado - so I don't really care about brand loyalty - just want a nice/capable/reliable truck. When I did the search this summer, was a toss-up between RAM/Ford - I liked RAM, wife liked Ford plusses/minus for each truck. Agree with all the previous comments on overpricing these days for "lot trucks" waiting is a no brainer and having patience is key - but with a similar "deal" 9% vs 8% do you think the same thing?

I do like the RAM I built on order- obviously picked all the preferences (colors, options, etc). Worth the unknown wait for RAM? or jump on deal with Ford (knowing they are NOT doing the overpriced thing like most dealer lots right now) ?

Thoughts?

I’ll never own another vehicle without Adaptive Cruise. It’s a game changer.

Every summer we take several road trips. Big one is Scottsdale to Durango (I know it’s not that big, it’s all relative).

My wife has a brand Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy with all the bells and whistles. It basically drives itself on the highway (it gets mad at you if you take your hands off the wheel though).

There was a “UGE” difference in the level of fatigue I felt when we arrived in Durango this year at the end of our 8.5 hour drive. It was almost non existent. I believe most of it was due to the decreased input from me on the drive. I can imagine if you’re towing and driving cross county these safety / tech features would help immensely.

My $.02.

Can't go wrong with a Ford truck. I currently have a F-150 and know several people with F-250s. It's really a personal opinion but I honestly feel Fords 7.3 is better in every single aspect over RAMs 6.4. You get a bigger cab with the Ford (for all the MegaCab bros, Fords crew cab is still bigger), aluminum body, more power, more torque. Looks come down to your own opinion but both trucks looks outstanding.... maybe a slight advantage to RAM since the Ford looks plain from the side. Ford upgraded to a 12 in screen this year so thats a plus there as well. I personally like the RAM interior and thats what drove me on my decision. The RAM truck has a great interior but everything else on the truck is dated and under powered. Go with whatever truck you like more!

I dropped my 2017 2500 off at the dealer this morning to have the rack and pinion replaced again under warranty and walked around the lot to see what the truck prices were there. They are still adding (in hand written pen on the sticker mind you) "AMV - $14,995.00" on every heavy duty truck on their lot. Its hilarious. They are asking almost $89,000 for a night edition laramie with the 8.4 screen. My '17 sells next week and i will happily wait for my loaded MG BH for under 67k. Its nuts out there....

And go with whatever you can get! Sounds like we may be losing you to a Ford forum.

The jab at the 8.4 inch screen hurt a little after seeing carplay on uconnect 5 use the whole 12 inch screen, not just half.

I like my buttons for the cooled seats though

Haha it wasn't a jab at the 8.4" as i almost went with that. It was just a mild optioned laramie that they were asking almost $90k for perspective lol

Not lost me yet.... they gave me until Thursday to decide (and let me know if they get another offer before then). I like both trucks obviously - I am concerned with the "regret" on the adaptive cruise. I've never had it in my trucks - but my wifes cars have had it for years, so I know how nice it is. That said, we don't take the truck too often on long trips.

How many Ford and GM guys are watching this forum due to the chip issues they have.
Who knows, but I can tell you this. I checked on ordering an F250 out of curiosity more than anything, and the dealer said if I ordered today I was looking at a February or March delivery date due to chip shortages.

That is a tough one. I currently have a 2022 F-250 build sheet out to 2 dealers waiting on pricing. With the 12” in the Ford now, they’re pretty close to the same truck. I ordered a Limited MegaCab on 6/21. If I don’t hear anything in next 2 weeks, I’m moving forward with Ford. I hate it too, because I love my Ram! I need a bigger backseat tho, and the more I look at F/250, the better they look. I really don’t need the storage behind seat, I need backseat room for little girls that like putting their feet all over Daddy’s nice seats, haha!

A nice person who has access to that information did. As far as I know, they're not on the forum here. I ordered from Sandi and I've been avoiding bothering her if I can.
Lucky devil. I ordered from Aaron at Mark Dodge and try to avoid bothering him since I know he is super busy.
