2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

I believe someone said something about that earlier in this forum. Apparently dealers got in trouble for changing allocations from sold to the lot so they can stock their lot. I believe someone said they need to get the change approved by RAM in order to keep it for their lot. Which makes sense because the quicker the trucks are sold, the quicker RAM gets their money, and sitting on the lot hurts that flow a little bit.
When the 21 arrived and wasnt to spec they sure pumped me to grab it until they recieved the proper 2022. I thought it was because they wanted my trade, or to make a quick buck. But your info makes sense that because my name was on it that they might be in trouble for using my name to get it to their lot. Blamed it on big clumsy fingers " I dont think so Tim " rang through my head".
( Home improvement lol )

The top grain leather seating is leaps and bounds better and the directional projector LED headlights are a bonus. There's a few more options but those are probably the two biggest.
I knew the interior was different, but I didn't realize that it had the nicer headlights. That's almost worth it alone. ****, now I'm losing sleeping and thinking I should change my order.

Any other big differences to consider?

You'd have to look at the options. https://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/ram/Ram_US HD_2021.pdf

Some package/options on other trims are standard on the Limited/Longhorn.

20" wheels
Power running boards standard
Remote tailgate
Limited reported to be the only model with dash ambient lighting since 21.
Leather dash and door panels. leather wrapped grab handles
Limited exterior trim, grille.
Stitch filigree on leather seating and center console (embossed on Longhorn)
Front Seats are also ventilated
BSM is standard
If you get Rambox, the Rambox utility group is included.

Limited isn't likely going to get tech options dropped for chip shortages, but the build might take longer.

I get that some standard stuff on Limited is optional on the Laramie. I was under that impression that once optioned up the only difference really was the upscale interior. I didn't realize the grill was different but don't care much about that.

I didn't realize the Limited has nicer head lights which is something I do care about. I've also heard rumors that that Limited for 2022 will have the heads up display, but no one can confirm that.

What is BSM?

I was choosing to delete the RamBox. Whats in the ram box utility group?

BSM=Blind Spot Monitoring

Now that would be cool rumor to come true. I saw it in the 1500 Limited and had hoped it would transfer to the 2500 Limited

That doesn't seem likely to happen as the dash/cab on the HD is different than the 1500 and would have be redesigned to accommodate the HUD.

The Longhorn comes standard with painted accent 18" wheels. No standard pwr running boards and no standard BSM. All part of packages. That's some of the reason why the limited is more than the Longhorn.

Does anyone know how to differentiate between the interior cab ceiling/A pillar color when looking at window stickers? I saw 2 different '21 Laramies side by side on the lot this weekend. Both had black seats, but one had black ceiling/A pillars while the other had lighter color trim in those places.

Thinking of ordering a 22 Limited Longhorn and was wondering if there are similar options like that if you choose the Cattle Brown interior.

Also, can someone clarify how much difference there is in the leather quality and headlights between a 22 Limited vs a Longhorn Limited? I'll check out the link posted above now, in case the answer is there.

Can’t answer the second part but in a laramie the black upper comes with sport package and night edition. Without those it is lighter and has some fake wood grain panels

I did a comparison of the Laramie vs. Limited when I was configuring my build. I have attached that comparison which shows a cost difference of 4K which was created with the listed $$ in mid July.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that the night edition Laramie came with projector lights same as the limited, but were just in a black housing?

You are wrong. Laramie headlights are not projector lights. They do come with led though. Just black housing led.

On that PDF that someone posted a couple posts again it said the multi directional headlights we NA Not Available on the Laramie. But were part of a P package on the Longhorn Limited. That was a 2021 the PDF referenced so I guess it could change for 2022 but I doubt it. It makes sense. They have to differentiate the two somehow. If you could just order a Laramie and add all the options to make it the same as a Limited for $4k less they’d probably lose a lot of sales on the limited. They probably need to give you a few things to make it worth it to move up.

So are the limited night edition lights both projector AND black housing? Or do they just use LED projectors same as the Laramie?

Yes, black projectors on the Limited Night ED and the Laramie uses LED reflectors.
