Hey all, Have a 2020 6.7 with 37k miles. About 10 days ago got a check engine light with code P2459- Frequent Regen. My truck had been running a Regen about every 25 miles. As soon as one would end another would start. My driving is about half highway and half local road. Dealer ran ECM flash 18-012-21 Rev B which took care of the indicator light but Regen still seems to frequent for my liking. It was running a Regen about every 100 miles today with mixed highway and local driving. What is everyone else seeing? Do I need to have DPF pressure sensor checked? Dealer seemed satisfied with ECM update but I’m not convinced.

It should regen every 24hrs of engine run time, do you log it at all that way?

I haven’t been logging it that way, however it is not even remotely close to 24 hrs. Maybe 2 hours at best.

Yea that’s not right, any other dealers around to try?

This is what mine does, regardless. My DPF gauge is always at or very close to 0% but it will regen as soon as the engine hours reaches a 24 hour mark. So far three, 24, 48, and 72 hrs.

With 352hrs on mine I’m due at 364 according to my log, somehow mine slipped a little past the 24hr mark but since then it’s been every 24 again.

I will try another dealer as soon as I get a free day. Hard to have the truck in the shop all the time! Drove about 150 highway miles today at 75-80mph. Did Regen again about 110 miles into my trip. Something still isn’t right.

Mine may be different but when I am running all highway either towing or running 70+ it will regen on the 24 mark. If I an daily driving to and from work (20 Miles) or doing short jumps around town it does it more frequently. I have a little log I have been keeping of when it regens posted below.

I have almost 6,000 miles on my '21. How do you know it is in regen? I have never noticed it.

I only have 400 miles on my 2021, so I'm a ways off from 1st regen. Once it starts, do you guys keep driving till complete?

On the Banks iDash gauge I can see Regen "On" or "OFF". Also if you have a gauge that monitors EGT1 and EGT3, then watch those. Normally they are approximately equal. But during a regen EGT3 will get much higher.

I do try to drive until the regen is done. But I have read that is not necessary?

How do you like the iDash??

I love it! Probably not a necessity, but I am the sort that likes to watch that kind of stuff. I just wish Banks would program in more parameters. They have a bunch, but there are several helpful ones like DEF concentration % or DEF injection rate that the 6.7 monitors but Banks has not included in their parameters.

I’m in the 85-100 miles range with mine, that’s highway or country road, doesn’t seem to matter. Again, seems excessive. Dealer update helped mildly but really doesn’t appear to have solved the problem. Driving across country in a few weeks for a hunting trip, hopefully it can be resolved by then.

Regening every 100 miles is crazy, especially on such a new truck. Something isn't right for sure. I don't have data from a 4.5 gen but my 2016 regens every ~950 miles give or take (~24hours of drive time)

I'm getting ready to take mine in,regen about every 100 miles ,eating DEF and fuel, 30000 miles but just started this. Hope they have a fix and also my a/c is horrible in the mid day in Florida,my work truck a 18 Chevy freezes you out.

Today Mine started hyper-regens. Shortest interval was 12 miles from 0% to 37.5% when the regen started. Was averaging about 100 miles between regens. Going to the dealer in the morning with the camper I’m hauling. Still have 1300 miles to deliver. FWIW, only have 215,000 miles on the truck.

Any news on yours? Have been to dealer multiple times with no resolution. Replaced DPF pressure sensor Friday and that has helped somewhat but I don’t think 100%. Going in again next week
