Driving home this evening I had to hit the brakes a bit hard after being cutoff on traffic. But, I didn't brake hard enough to engage the ABS.

Immediately afterward, I accelerated a bit hard while merging on the highway on-ramp.

I got the DEF service warning with a message to see dealer. After driving about 5 miles the light went away and there were "no messages" on the center display.

I pulled the codes when I got home and the only code was a 202E. I cleared the code, restarted the truck and now I don't have any codes present.

Does anyone know what this is caused by? I searched by 202E doesn't yield many results.

Not quite your situation, but the other day I was coming down a small coastal mountain road/highway and driving somewhat in hot rod mode, and when I reached the bottom of the range, I noticed that my DEF tank was almost empty. I knew that it was in fact a little over half full. It did generate a warning on the dash, but I don't recall what the message was. I believe it was a low DEF warning. After driving for about 10 minutes, the gauge slowly returned to around the half full level, and the warning went away.

Two things surprised me. First, that the down hill attitude of the truck would affect the gauge so drastically. Second, that it took the gauge so long to return to the correct DEF level.

I would guess that your panic stop caused the same problem that my fast down hill drive did.

My truck is a 2021 HO short bed CC 4x4 with about 6000 miles on the clock.

I've driven quite a bit today and the code or message has not returned. I have right at 1/4 a tank of DEF so I suspect your point about the panic braking makes sense. Hopefully that's the end of it.

Got the P202E code yesterday, not cold, no brake slamming. Got a display message to service and checked the code with my Bluedriver. Nothing since….should I clear it?

I got the coffee while driving home yesterday, along with the P203F code, which is Reductant level too low.
I've also had the DEF gauge show empty on several occasions, only to restore itself when I continue driving. I'm hoping the injector code will clear too.
