2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Yeah....they have parts for you as they were ordered 4 months ago when you ordered your truck......and are probably just now coming in. I think it's going to take at least 4 months but probably closer to 6 to get parts for the higher trim level's because as mentioned they have more chips in them. But not only the chip shortage other shortages like the people that ordered sun-roofs, and other shortages we may not know about on here. They will complete them exactly how you ordered it's just going to take longer.
The last one I ordered in 2017 took about 6 months so it seems like they're about on pace, just a matter of the dealer setting the right expectation when you get started so there's no surprises

Just got done at my dealer, they called there FCA rep and said there is no sunroof shortage, just slight delays with the BSM chips. Other than that, they said it’s up to the factory on how fast they can pump them out

I’m going to talk with my salesman and see if he can double check. I hate to make compromises on a truck that costs this much. Hopefully it all works out.

This is not always true , I had my vin 3 days after putting my order in and 3 weeks later asked my dealer to add trailer tpms sensor option and the sales manager made a call to his rep and got it done. Im not saying its always possible but it is worth calling your dealer and speaking with the sales manager about it.
I did the same, except I added auxiliary switches two weeks after my order was submitted. Manager made a call to the fleet rep who got them added. I later found out that both the rep and the manager got in trouble for it and were told no changes are allowed once the order is submitted. The aux switches still got added though.

Has anyone been able to get a Big Horn equipment group B WITHOUT the 8.4" Nav radio? The 8.4" (non) nav radio comes with equipment group B and I don't need a Nav system for $800 when I always have my phone.
I have the Big Horn with Level B, and had to ADD navigation. 8.4 radio does not come standard with nav, even with level B. Level B you get the standard 8.4 without Nav.

I have been told by the head of Ram trucks that the BSM is the only chip issue
Sounds right. I wanted BSM on my truck when I ordered it and was told by the dealer if I wanted blind spot monitoring don't expect my truck anytime soon because the chips for that option are delayed.

Depending on what chips and how many are needed, it appears they still keep a vin in line for its scheduled production, build what they can, and then ship the vehicle to a storage facility (JS status) until the chip(s) which are needed become available, then ship back to the plant and complete. I had a special order Wrangler that just did that in the last few days. In production, shipped to storage for 2 days, then shipped back and put in production and completed in 1 additional day. I can't promise all work like this. Just giving some facts on how it panned out for this vehicle. Hope this is helpful.

Regarding pricing increases.... Once you order your vehicles and get a priced order confirmation, the dealer is able to claim price protection when your vehicle is delivered and they nvdr it (register you as the delivered owner with Stellantis). However, they have to do this step correctly.

If I was not your selling dealer, ask them if they will be using the price protection lock at delivery to guarantee the price you were quoted isn't increased. They should not act like a deer in the headlights. Lol. Ask in an email, and hopefully get the response by email so you have it in writing in case they try to increase the price on you.

If you are sitting on the fence about ordering, you may want to jump in now to lock your price, as I I would imagine prices will continue to rise because of the chip, metals and transportation shortages. Manufacturers will have to pay more to guarantee supply. And that will be passed on to you. Again, I can't see into the future. It's just plain logic of supply and demand.

Ordering my truck probably tomorrow but wondering if anybody knows answers to these questions. First off ordering a 3500 Laramie Crew cab LB. Ordering the Level B Laramie package.

- is digital rear view mirror available separately? Don’t really want everything in the safety group B but run a canopy on my truck and it’s full a lot, having a digital rear view mirror would be nice.

- do you get a discount on an option like safety group B when a lot of those options are already included in Laramie B?

thanks for the help and looking forward to finishing my order, first new vehicle I’ve ever ordered.

The digital rear view won’t do you any good with a shell/canopy on. The camera is in the 3rd brake light.
