2022 Ram HD Builds and orders - Post and discuss your TRUCK order here! ** NEW USERS READ POST #1 **

Not to make you even more disappointed with Ram’s lack of info, but I was sent that exact email from “Cara” on July 28th. Have not heard a single thing since. I have a supposed ship date of 8/18, I’m just assuming that’s not happening.
Cara gets around. Looks like she "puts out" at least. Info that is.

This story I recieved today from my union's weekly newsletter.

PARTIAL CLOSURE OF NINGBO TERMINAL UNDERLINES FRAGILITY OF GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN
Shipping companies have been diverting vessels from one of the world’s busiest container ports, Ningbo-Zhoushan, which was partially closed after a case of Covid-19 was discovered there last week.
The port operator has not offered a timeline for the resumption of operations.
A number of companies have diverted vessels from Ningbo to alternate Chinese ports and congestion is expected to rise as more follow their example.
The closure is having an impact on billions of dollars’ worth of global trade, in particular integrated circuit boards and other electronic components, metal and bunker fuel supplies.
The average number of weekly calls to Ningbo has already dropped by 70 percent, according to some reports.
The partial shutdown of operations at the port is only the most recent in a string of events, including the crew change crisis and the blockage of the Suez Canal, that have highlighted the fragility of the global supply chain.

Well that sucks, but I guess we’ll get our trucks when they eventually get to them lol

Wait. Where's all the add-ons like glass etching, accessories installed without your approval, misc. fees, etc.??

Looks like they're not nickel/dime'ing you like the rest of the competition... what about "protectants" and "rust-proofing"? Ha Ha
My dealer had a $399 security activation fee. I LOL'd.

That was not communicated to me by Sandi and Mark Dodge. I expect that the price I pay whenever my truck shows up will be the amount on the buyers order I signed with them.

EDIT: the following is included in said buyers order. But I think RAM knows they would have a lot of pissed off people if they increased the price at this point. They already increased the price from '21 to '22.

I am still driving my trade, don't think it makes sense to turn it in given the unsure nature of build times. I ordered from Mark Dodge on June 1 and was given a firm offer for my trade with a mileage cap. They recently reconfirmed my trade price and extended it for an additional 60 days. Also said if I exceeded my cap I can deduct $1000 for an additional 5k miles. Works out to be .20 cents a mile which seems very fair.

Do you know who is manufacturing the elusive chips and which port is the closest to their operation? I know there are a lot of chips made in Malaysia and Singapore so may not have a direct impact depending on the shipping routes. I used to ship a lot through Singapore and there is a stop in Kaohsiung, Taiwan before heading to the west coast. Then rail to final destination.

I would love to have that deal… unfortunately, Mark Dodge was considerably less than my local dealer :( on my trade. I’m going to pull the trigger on selling my 2021 2500 while I wait for the 3500 to be built/delivered.

My initial trade included 90 days and now an 60 day extension beyond the original. 2018 LTZ trade and their offer was vey fair. Still owe something on the '18 so did not want to continue to make payments and not have the use of it. The used car market is so hot that the trades are really good. Don't understand why they didn't offer you more unless you got a bunch of miles. I am still under 50k which is the magic number for most dealers.

2021 Loaded Laramie (MSRP of 80k) with 9k miles of which they offered 60K. I had a 69k and a 71k offer from 2 of my local dealers. Planning on dropping it off on Thursday!!

Thought about selling my puny little 1500 RAM but I'm in the middle of selling and moving and need it to help me move so will keep it until I see the clearance lights on the horizon, hopefully before next year.;)

I have no idea who manufactures chips, and what ports they ship from. All I ever observed was containers being loaded, and rarly looked at manifests unless there was a problem.
Retired 4 yrs ago, and never looked back.

When I looked at a Limited Longhorn that had the bed prep group with the spray in liner, the dealer tacked on an additional $600 for the spray-in liner. At that point it was already clear that they were unwilling to do anything regarding price, so I didn't bother mentioning it.
