Slow-Selling Low-Volume Colors Are Filling In Gaps In Ram Heavy Duty Lineups!

Would You Choose One?

As the automotive industry continues to face challenges surrounding the ongoing semiconductor shortage, car dealers are struggling to find both new and used car inventory to meet customer demand. The situation has left some dealers with more used vehicles in their inventories than new ones. But now, some vehicles that wouldn’t get a second look from most people are becoming standouts on limited availability lots.

I saw one of those light green trucks go by a campground I was at a couple of weeks ago. At first I thought it was a paint job but the truck looked pretty new so I was at a loss. Now I know!

Wish they would allow some of these low volume colors on the higher trim levels. A nice flashy green, blue, red or yellow would be different and turn heads for limited trim trim levels. But no, black, white, aggie red or some version of grey be the allowed choices..

But back to the subject, i presume tradesman trims come with far less required electronics so the factory can actually produce these trucks. The paint color really has no bearing on this other than maybe attracting a little more attention on the mostly empty dealer lots.

I had a 2009 that was khaki tan that I traded in for a 2012 yellow. The yellow one sat on the lot for a year and a half.

That green one looks like a left over from the forest service or other govt entity that didn't buy all of their quota. ;)

Wish they would’ve posted pics of all the colors. I always liked the forest service green on XJs

if the price was right I would not shy away from one.

Ehhh.....I'm sorry. I don't care what they call that....it's Pea Green and it's what the inside of every building in the Army was painted. After 20 years I just couldn't drive that.

The Detonator Yellow one from the article has a $20,000 markup for a well optioned Big Horn lol.

WOW. I could have ALMOST bought two of my trucks for what I paid for mine and a fully loaded Laramie at that.

Pretty sad when the window sticker is $63825 they think they can rob someone at $84988 ! That dealership is as bad as they get no matter what color it is !

Thats a good deal here as the avg limited is 103k up to about 110k depending on options

Geez, good thing i bought a truck last year then, $80 k for a new 3500 limited. If it were to have to be replaced I might have to settle for a 90's vintage ranger or s10....

My RAM dealer has so little new stock that they have about 10 chassis-cabs, 1 Grand Cherokee, and 2 Gladiators on the lot. They said they moved the chassis-cabs over from their “fleet lot” just so they look to be open for business.
