Do you guys use foam cannons?

Its all about lubricity,,,even with a hose only and no pressure washer its better to form if you can. There is not as much foam without a pressure washer but it can be done . Foaming is better than no foaming because the foam will somewhat loosen and lube the surface to make those bigger sand and dirt particles fall off the vehicle after sitting and a rinse off before rubbing it with a wash mitt. IMO

It totally makes sense that just having the foam sit for a few minutes will do good. But are you guys saying you should rinse off the foam first and then use a wash mitt in a bucket solution, or just use a mitt in a bucket solution while the foam is still on there BEFORE you rinse it off?

Maybe if you don't have a pressure washer. If you foam, wait, and then pressure wash it takes off no more dirt than just pressure washing it right from the start. Then use a multi-bucket system to avoid swirls.
I think it look cool though and a great marketing tool for detail shops.

Dont want to confuse you but when Im in a fussy mood I rinse the auto thoroughly,, then foam let it sit 10 min or so then rinse off thoroughly again, then do you bucket wash, some times I would do a second foam and without rinsing I would start the bucket wash..
@ Anthony before I had a PW I used just the hose to foam gun and it is not nearly as foamy as the PW but it did what it was supposed to do, maybe it depends on your household pressure and foaming soap but it sufficed......IMO

Use a pressure washer to rinse-foam-rinse. Keep wax / sealant / ceramic on it and you only need to break out the buckets for really heavy dirt (ex: off reading on a muddy trail). Faster and less risk of introducing swirl marks.

Been using a foam cannon for years. enjoyed watching Obsessed Garage go through years of reviewing them as well (and washers).

As per what they discovered, Karcher released a high flowing cheap washer, the K1700 Cube. I've had one of these since I setup my wash "wall" and it's worked great ever since.

Go for a good MTM Stainless gun like the SG28 with adapter for the Karcher (throw out the Karcher hose and gun that comes with it), a nice reeled hose (MTM is fine) and a good MTM Foam Cannon (the new PF22.2 includes a MUCH better bottle now, it doesn't fall over).

Note you don't have to buy from them, local detailing shops usually have good pricing or even Amazon. I ordered my MTM accessories direct from MTM actually and other bits from Amazon. Home Depot usually stocks the 1700.

That little 1700 Cube basically puts shaving cream on my vehicles, no need to buy the crazy expensive Krangle that guy loves (unless you like nice toys).

It’s been a few years since I bought my K1700 so I may have forgotten. Looking at OGs garage we store I think you are right, no adapter needed.
