I love my truck to death but the driver door panel has developed a rattle that rattles over every bump in the road or every bass note. It’s driving me nuts

the way I see it, I have two options
A: half stick of dynamite - faster fix - longer cleanup
B: removed door panel, find rattle, fix rattle possibly add sound deadening material. - longer fix - quieter

I think I’ll try option B first so… any of y’all removed the door panels in these gen 4.875 or whatever they are rams? Any best practices?

Oh and I have the poverty door panels that hurt your elbows according to the forums.

thanks in advance

I watched a couple of 4th gen door speaker install videos on Youtube. Our doors are pretty much the same. I don't remember it being difficult. I only messed with the rear doors though.

Here is a pdf of the front door panel removal/install. It's pretty simple to take off as I did all my speakers. Putting it back on is a bit of a headache to get the L brackets lined back up and down in the slots without damaging the L brackets on the panel.

Thanks dude !

My window switch rattled like hell, hold that down and see if the rattle stops, I had to put some tape on it to make it fit a little tighter.

I’ll check that out.
Slight pressure with my left knee as I’m driving stops the rattle. I’ve folded up a small piece of paper and closed it between the dash and door panel and it’s enough to stop the rattle as well.
I thought about just putting foam tape between the dash and door panel to keep it tight but my luck that slight pressure would just make the dash rattle over time

Door panels are easy to pull off, I've done it a dozen times. You should also be able to find the rattle pretty easy I would think. Most likely a connector on a wire bundle vibrating or something. Not too much back there.
I just had my passenger panel off for a rattle that was driving me crazy, turns out the idiot that took the door panel off a couple weeks ago forgot to tighten the screws on the speaker. Same idiot tightened the screws and problem solved Lol.

It is super loose. I like heavy metal and it was rattling bad. I shoved a business card in its asscrack and the rattling quit. I’ll do an appropriate fix on it here in a bit. Thanks man
Metal is my thing too but tonight it will be ZZ top on the way home. RIP Dusty Hill. Yesterday it was Slip Knot.... RIP Joey Jordison With some Metal Church earlier in the day RIP..... Mike Howe

Not a good week to be an aging rocker

I’ve been on a space rock kick lately. Space slug, glow sun, pelican.. and I have been cranking up the sword lately as well, throw in some corrosion of conformity… But older heavy metal is always a solid choice
