Ordered the same thing 3 days later. NG117136. I'll be pulling a 36' 11k GVWR 5er

Wow, the diesel would prob pay for itself in 10k miles towing that trailer. Lucky to get 5mpg in the gasser. But to each their own I guess
Spoken like a true diesel owner. I've done my research. It's actually over 100k miles to offset the overall cost of ownership. I tow about 10k per year. The gas is absolutely sufficient for my needs as much as my man card (or what's left) wants the diesel

I think your math is off.

9k for diesel
10k miles at 5mpg at 3.5avg. 7000$
10k miles at 12mpg at 3avg. 2500$
So my math was off it’ll take you 20000 miles.
Not to mention all the other benefits of towing in a Cummins, exhaust brake, gobs more torque, man factor etc

I'll stick with a gasser also,I work on these everyday and don't tow enough, diesel is .30 more a gallon here, plus fuel filters, fuel treatment,DEF,limp mode because of DEF....

I was looking through the Google Sheet that OfficerDirtySanchez created and noticed your order isn’t in there. I know you ordered the same day as me and would be curious if we get ours around the same time. You interested in sharing your sequence number?
Where is this google sheet you speak of?

I love my '20 w/Max Tow. Wouldn't tow without it. But towing or not, my truck sits in the garage most of the time so fuel mileage is not really significant for me.

Over a number of 5 or 600 mile trips towing my 16,000lb 5th wheel, I've gotten 9.5mpg - 10.5mpg - not 12 like the calculation above. I think this is about average. Of course, your mileage will vary.

I just ordered a '22 replacement - since the trade-in values make it almost an even swap to get 2 model years newer, more power, more towing features, etc. I expect same mileage as I/m getting now.

Hope this helps your calculation above...

I have pulled my (2) 40' 5er coast to coast from Kansas City, Missouri for vactions with (3) different trucks. All diesel, all Dodge/Ram.
The torque, diesel brake , dually ,filters, DEF, cost of the diesel engine is worth it, but, I've also had the luxury of having a company van that I have 27/7, making my personal truck a non daily driver, so my savings in fuel cost have been huge!!
That being said, if I still had the camper, the gasser I orderd would not be an option for me. I look at the diesel as a tool for the job. And man, it sure does it's job well!!
Only thing I'll be towing now is my bass boat, as I will be retiring soon.

Since you work for a dealer, any idea when the brochure for the 2022 will become public?
I've been reading there may/are some changes on the grille from the 2021 HD to match/resemble the 2022 1500.
We are ALL purchasing trucks that we don't know excatly what it will look like.

That'd be a long drive. I'm only looking at about 5 hours but that beats any dealer in Oregon I've worked with. Never thought I'd see the day where I actually miss a car salesman lol.

Yessir, 10th digit is an N
When you get to know a sales person for a number of years he or she knows what you are looking for in a vehicle, lease or purchase.
When this person retires or leaves the dealership you are back to square one so to speak.
