Hey guys new here been reading all topics about the 2500 and thought i would finally join board. Iive in wyoming, BIG outdoorsman! Have a older tundra getting ready to move up to a ram for capabilities but am worried about reliability and amazed at price....wow 77k! Got a laramie NE loaded longbed on order cause nobody has any in stock. Problem is have now clue when truck is getting here cause of production holds around covid. The longer i wait the more i start to worry about all these QA issues i read about and wonder if it would be better to look around. Had to order truck without safety package because goofy mirror blob blocks view(ironic) and since no telescoping wheel i cant lean back right, also no sunroof as headroom even with seat low seems short to my body type. Am i the only one that thinks this truck needs shorter seats or taller cab? Anyways we will see...thanks for all the info

Welcome to forum, don’t second guess yourself you bought a great truck. All manufacturers have some kind of problems the good news is RAM/FCA monitors this forum and offers help getting problems solved. It’ll all work out. Post some pics when you take delivery

I know but they don't all have "issues" my tundra has had 1 recall for floor mats...floor mats in 13 years. It did have a emissions problem after I drove across a river and at 100k miles Toyota issued a maint advisory and said those parts were designed wrong and replaced it for free with out any argument...bill was$3500 and they zeroed it out, remind u this is well past warranty. I know they don't make a 3/4ton and that's what I need but all this time is getting me doing to much research...lol. now I am thinking is my truck gonna arrive with a bed step? I use to run a aviation QA department so I know I am probably overthinking... You guys do seem to have a great forum with lots info

I’ve got a 2008 5.7L Tundra. Shopping for a 2500 Diesel for towing reasons. Am considering ordering (since the ‘19 inventories are extremely low)... how does it work? I make a purchase order but am I on the hook to buy when it comes in? Dealer told me incentives / rebates only apply at time of delivery, so I can’t even know final price since what I qualify for today may not be there in, what, 3 months when it comes in?

Sort of - what you do is you negotiate with the dealer and they give you a final price for the truck excluding incentives and rebates when you order, so you should get to around the price you're looking for at that point. They'll honor that price when the truck arrives, plus you'll get to claim any incentives or rebates that are available at that time, but obviously plan on there being none to be safe and satisfied with your cost. You may have to provide some sort of deposit, and depending on your local laws that may or may not be refundable - in my case it's refundable but they claim they'll only give it back once they sell my truck if I decide not to take it when it arrives. But, for my order, we negotiated a good price for it before the order was placed.
