I guess I’ve been too busy to look at my front tires and just noticed the passenger side front is completely worn out on the outside edge. Only the passenger side front. Driver side is nice and square. I cannot think of a way alignment adjustment could remedy this. My issue must be related to a worn hard part I think. 2022 Cummins single rear 4wd with 73k on it.

Also - I have a Mopar 100K warranty with a $200 deductible. Would warranty cover something like this? Would I pay for the alignment?

Yeah then I am paying one way or another. Might as well check the unit bearing for slop. I would be shocked if it was one of those massive knuckle ball joints but I'll check those too.

If I grab the wheel at 12 and 6 it has a slight rock to it. I would think a sloppy bearing would make inside wear more than outside? Has anyone had this issue with only outside wearing?

Solid Axle vehicles tend to cup tires, not sure exactly why but does not seem like allignments are the issue. It is essential tires are rotated. The BFG HD terrains will go a long ways with out rotating, but still need 2 rotations in the life at a minimum, 3 ideal. Softer street tires and you may want pretty regular rotations like 10K.

Might not be the truck. Its a heavy truck and left hand turns are harder on right front corners than right hand turns are on front left corners.

I considered that it might not be anything too. I do feel more play in the unit bearing than I would have left lets say if I could set the bearing myself. I ordered a bearing and a pair of Ranchos. My trucks under warranty but parts were only $250 and this way I avoid the dealer. If I compare the left bearing to the right bearing and they feel the same I won't swap unit bearings and just do a rotation. Perhaps its mind over matter but I do hear a groaning noise going down the road...of course that could be tires as well. Its time for front pads so I'll give it a once over and we'll see if it can be sorted at home. Worst case scenario I paid for a pair of front shocks and I'll let the dealer take a stab at whats causing the tire wear another day (and just return the unit bearing).

Are you saying with the wheel off the ground there is play from 6 to 12? There should be zero play in the wheel in any direction. Most likely a bad ball joint. You can try raising the wheel slightly off the ground, put a pry bar under it and see if there is any vertical play.

Yes I get a little play with wheel off the ground. It doesn't seem to be coming from the ball joints as far as I can tell. Pretty sure the play is in the unit bearing. Bad news is the Carquest bearing is china so I am going to make this my last resort and I am looking for a different brand.
