Since I cut out little bit too much of the bottom grille when I installed my winch I decided to put some led pods in the front. Made a custom plate for them and realized the Warn fairlead is much wider then I expected. Badlands fairlead is perfect but it doesn't have the stud to hook up winch hook. Is there a plate that is not as wide as warn and still have a spot to hook up the winch hook?

I like that. Does it work good?
Perfectly. You just snug it up and it stays.

side note: If you have pre-stretched your synthetic line as per break-in then it will stay perfectly snug forever. If your line is brand new and not stretched then it’ll loosen up every few days. This is inherent to synthetic line and not the above product

Aev winch hook isolator $30

I came here to say the same thing lol

Side note after using a hawse fairlead for a little bit on my trailer winch i cant understand why roller fairleads even exist im glad i took your advice to try it.....

Hawse are not good for steel cable winches. I think they are made for synthetic ropes

Also a fan of factor 55 pucks but they’re super pricey. Having a closed system using D rings is super solid. I have one on my Toyota and love it. But, I traded some ammo for it. I don’t think I could pay over $100 for a new “winch hook”

You’re right if the fairlead is aluminum. You can use a cast iron hawse fairlead with a steel cable no problem

yup Warn now all come with the cast steel hawse on their steel line winches. probably cheaper for the them than the old roller fairleads. cleaner looking too.
