I'm looking at new '24 3500 Cummins HO Mega Cab Limited trucks with rear air, and it seems the Power Deployable Running Boards are not available. Is that really true? I have the factory power running boards on my existing '21 Crew Cab and gotta have them on anything new for my wife's bad knees. I looked briefly at the AMP site and it implies that their kit won't work with these trucks.

I have them on my 2020 Mega. They were standard equipment on the limited trim level, regardless of the engine choice.

They just quit making them available on all the '24 models looks like. The '25 models have them available. My '21 Laramie has them and , before the '25's were available to order, I tried building another '24 Laramie and they are not available either.

3 1/2 years for me and so far good, the wife has put them steps through the test lab, every time we pack for camping she'll open and
close the doors a billion times even for something as small as a hair pin. :(

Snow and salt areas wreak havoc on 2 of my buddy’s steps
I live in a snow belt and travel occasionally north of me to an even worse snow belt, so I experience plenty of snow and snow banks with chunks of ice but I try to avoid them.
If hes plowing I could understand but with the retractable fitting quite tight against the cab I'm at a loss on how that would happen twice.
Not that it couldn't happen but I seem to have less issues with ice and snow build up than I did with the regular running boards on my other trucks.

No issues - corrosion or otherwise with my OEM power running boards. We live in MN and have plenty of exposure to salt etc.

I've had them on my last 3 trucks without any issues and I've come to appreciate them. I'm in MD, so we don't get a ton of snow, but not none and we do lay down a fair amount of salt through the winter.I don't think I could get any of my oldest family members into the truck without them. They drop significantly lower and are much wider than the non-deploying alternatives.

I have them on my '21. I find I need to occasionally clean and lube them to keep them running smoothly. Even then, I am not sure I would get them again. The main drawback for me is that getting in and out, even at my old age, I am faster than the steps deploy. If I am not careful and waiting a second or two, I step on them before they stop moving. Minor annoyance, but annoying. On my old truck I had the stationary running boards and got used to them simply always being there and ready.
