Why is AlfaOBD showing I'm connected to a 2016-2017 Body Control Module on my 2020? Anyone else? -Resolved with App update.

So I'm looking to add another item available in a 2020 Model Year Body Control Module, but AlfaOBD shows I'm connected to a 2016-2017. My 2500 is a 2020 and the option (mirror running lights) isn't there in the 2016-2107 menu. Anyone have a clue on what's going on or how to resolve? I'm selecting MY 2020, but it's not connecting as selected.

Is it up to date?

Unfortunately, this happens occasionally. You can contact the dev Alex for help and he will sometimes send you an update directly.

I had the same issue once when I mistakenly connected to the OBD port rather than through the KAODtech port. I tried 3 or 4 times, kept getting connected as MY16-17, before realizing, but then once I fished the cable down and used the bypass all went back to normal.

Thanks Brutal_HO for the prompt to check my app. Though I only downloaded it a few weeks ago, there was an update available. I installed the update and now my truck links properly as a 2020. I just added the mirror running light feature. I'll have to see what else is available now since my Global Windows Down attempt didn't work before.

I appreciate your reply LateToTheParty. I checked to make sure I was connecting correctly also.

Glad you got it straightened out.

Unfortunately though, Global Down doesn't work for our trucks.
