Plan on ordering WKO sliders here in the next week or so. Was curious how many are doing the powdercoat option from WKO vs painting/coating them at home? This is my first Power Wagon, but I've had sliders on my last few Toyota Land Cruisers. Always went the MFG powdercoat route, then just used some black spraypaint to touchup when they get scraped up. Has so far worked out fine for me, but just thought I'd see what others were doing here. Anybody ever done something like Line-X on sliders? I live in the midwest, so we have salt in the winters.....keeping things as corrosion free as possible is a high priority. Also, are the full length top plates bolted onto the sliders or do they come welded on? Hard to tell for sure from the pictures on WKO site, but look to be bolted on.

I had a local place powdercoat mine. It was a bit cheaper, but mostly I just figured if they got banged up in shipping having it done local would cover it. They were packaged really well, though, and no issues when they arrived. I touch it up with spray paint as needed (only once, so far, came down good on a rock going over a ledge).

I wouldn't do Line-X, personally, or if I did I'd only do the top.

I bought mine powder coated from WKO. Powder coating seems fine and is holding up well for the past 3 years but I'm also in southern California. Sorry, i didn't opt for the top plate so cant help you there.

I had WK on my JTRD, they were bolted on and removable. I live in the desert which means summers are miserable and winters are just dark and depressing, but nothing rusts so we have that at least... right?

Thanks for the responses. I'll probably just go with the powder coat from WKO as I don't know any reputable powder coating places nearby. Also thanks for the info on the top plate. I figured they are removable. Thats good, maybe i can hit them with some textured paint as I'll be using the sliders as steps. This Power Wagon is quite a jump up. My 5 foot tall GF already hates it, lol.

Mine are powder coated from white knuckle. 1) they are incredibly slick when wet. I put grip tape on top and this resolved that issue.
2) mine are about 5 years old, and they are looking pretty rough, to be honest I’m pretty disappointed in the powder coat durability on these/the fact that they are rusting. The coating on the Dethloff skid I installed stopping the same time still looks perfect.
