Which drop hitch?

What drop hitch are you guys using? My 2500 is a lot taller than my 1500 was, with the off-road package it sits about the same height as the Power Wagon. I measured 26" from ground to the top of the hitch. Just need to figure out what size drop to get; 6"? 8"? or...?

Thanks!

Tucks under real nice and comes in black too. But I have chrome. No more busted knee caps with this one.

Tow N Stow here, too. B&W stuff always works well, and is made in Kansas, not Shanghai.

I’m using this Curt unit with our Blue Ox SwayPro WD hitch since moving up from 1500 to 2500. F6C2985A-96D7-426C-8289-3B84EDB2E8B5.jpeg1B83BCA8-EB16-4B1D-8951-659D86F6C5E3.jpeg

I use the Curt drop hitch also. I had to do some careful grinding to get my Fastway weight distribution mount to fit though.

Curt drop here also. 45902 model. 20k rating with 2-5/16 ball. And 14k with 2” ball.

Towed 240 miles with a 16’ 16k lb dump trailer and it was excellent.

Likewise going from a 1500 to the 3500 req'd a 5-inch drop for the WDH ball mount that tugs our rolling dog house. Ball mount req'd a 2-inch shank. This item from Reese has worked well:

I had a Weigh Safe hitch, 2.5" shaft and 10" drop on my 2017 2500. I now have a 2019 3500 dually, which sits 1.5-2.0" lower than my 2500 did. So, I'm selling the 10" drop to my buddy, and either getting another Weigh Safe, but 8" drop, or I just came across Rhino Hitch - and I'm trying to decide between the two. I'm attaching a couple links to help: Weigh Safe and Rhino Hitch . Let me know your thoughts!

One thing I don't like about all of these adjustable mounts is that they aren't secure. You can lock the shank and you can lock the trailer hitch, but that's all kind of useless if you just have to pull a couple pins on the adjuster and separate it from your truck.

That is what i like about mine. Easy to use and on/off the truck.

Are you using the word secure as in safety or security (anti theft) of the setup?

I mean it's not very secure against theft

Okay. I don’t have mine on the truck unless its being used. So not a concern here

It can be a real concern for the times you have to leave your truck and trailer unattended. Like overnight at a hotel.

Mostly.....@Possum - I may be missing something here, but what are you talking about? The weigh safe is completely secure. The Rhino Hitch is "pretty" secure - unless you're going to undo all the bolts in which case you still have to move a truck or trailer away from it. B&W stow'n go is secure. Not one of them do you just pull a pin and you can separate from the truck

@OuachitaAdventur - nice video! I agree - I absolutely love the Weigh Safe hitch. I again had the 10" drop on my ¾ ton, but now that I have a 3500, I think it is a little low, so I am in need of an 8" drop. I am really thinking hard on the Rhino Hitch though. I like the concept of it - it's a little bit heavier and bulkier than the weigh safe, but I think it maybe worth it for the benefits of hitching up and leveling. I don't know - I'm having a tough time deciding.....but I'm thinking I'm going to try it.

I like the 10" drop on my 3500. It works well stock and I am planning on going a little bigger on tires once these wear out.
