We all love our trucks but nothing is perfect. What's the most annoying thing to you about your truck?

I'll start: I used my truck to go to the airport today for a business trip. First time in a while given the pandemic. As I pull up to the hourly parking garage (a necessary expense when you have a busy day and arrive 60 minutes before departure) the machine won't spit out a ticket and the gate won't open. Then I see the warning light: "overheight vehicle, go to long term parking." This means an extra 30 minutes to get to my gate, which caused me to miss my flight. So it's annoying that I can't use this truck to go to the airport for business travel anymore.

How about you?

The air conditioning. It's just ok. I drive a Ford work truck all day. So cold. Then I get in the Ram and ... meh.
It actually is decent if its hot out. But say it's like 70 degrees out and you turn on the ac. It's pretty much warm unless you put it on max ac. It's like the ac is saying it's not that hot you sissy.
I have a tradesman with regular ac.

My ac suxs too

My truck barely fits in my downtown work parking garage but won’t when I level it. It’s not a commuter so not too big of a deal.

For me its probably my fan clutch. Loud whine and I can’t hear the diesel or turbo and it eats power until it decides to stop. I can’t find any temp consistency on this function

That's a toss up between the three LOUD horn honks when leaving the truck running, getting out and shutting the door and no temp bypass of the regen cycle. This has made me late for appointments and work.

I have an annoying rattle at idle that I am unable to find due to being deaf in my left ear (everything comes from same direction for me). When asking my wife she just states oh ya its rattling somewhere.

I second the horn chirps as well. I wish it just had a key, they're easier to keep track of, just leave it in the ignition. Also not a fan of all the automatic sh*t, especially lights. I hate blinding all my camping neighbors at night everytime I get in my truck. Not handy around truckstops or other areas where you don't want to blind other folks at night either. That's not so much a Ram thing, they're probably all like that.

Not being able to turn off the halo lights.

At night I just want the parking lights on at times without the white halo.

Maybe there's a way to turn it off? Hell, it took almost 2,000 miles and friend to tell me where the tow/haul switch was. Right NEXT TO the exhaust brake switch that I love! Go figure, not proud of that one.

I'd say the radiator fan for sure. Sounds loud as can be, and as stated above, I cannot find a rhyme or reason for this fan kicking on/off. Possibly the squeak from the exhaust, but that's not bad enough to really bother me.

My brake pedal clunks and rattles over rough roads. I’ve read of others having the same noise, with no solution. That’s my biggest gripe, so not too bad in the grand scheme of owning the truck.

ANC does something weird on the 1-2 shift once I leave my driveway, and only on that first shift. Happens infrequently enough that I can't really bring it up to the dealer, but I absolutely hate when it happens. Sounds like the engine is in the cab.

When my trans does the line lock on 4th gear sometimes feels like the transmission fell out. Cant get it to do it consistently enough to show anyone

The ride on my 22 CC/LB. Found part of it but still looking. Dealer says “that’s how they are“. Not. My 18 CC/SB didn’t have this shudder to it on fairly smooth road. And the UConnect 5.

Any complaints I have are definitely first world problems. But you asked….

1) price
2) mileage/range
3) horn rides on a network bus instead of immediate signaling when touched - this has to be most useless application of technology to “solve” a non-problem (and create a real problem) I can think of at the moment…

  • My A/C is ok after the TSB work. I also have a shutoff valve on my heater core. Really helps.
  • I have the horn honk issue turned off with AlphaOBD.
  • I really hate the lack of telescoping wheel, knee hitting the 4WD buttons, and the fact that the clock can't keep time.
