While pulling the TT yesterday on a highway at about 60 MPH, fairly flat, cool weather, we suddenly heard 3 loud "chimes" or dings coming from somewhere at the dash area, I checked the gauges, no warning lights, no alerts, no change in running condition of the truck. Anyone else ever experience this? Our phones were all accounted for and had on messages, and the radio was not on. Any guesses guys?

Do you have navigation? it will chime alerts at you. I believe I turned them off in the settings.

First time I heard it in mine, I was driving through Tennessee a few days ago and we had just passed a sign about speed cameras in use, but I did not put the dings together with the sign yet and was like what the heck was that. I instantly knew what it was when we later pulled up to an intersection with red light cameras all over it and it started dinging again. I had no idea these truck came with that feature before then.

As has been stated, its speed zone such as school or red light camera, if nav was open on your display you'd see a visual but if your screen is on something else such as radio station you get an audible.

Yea. Took me a while to figure that one out. They should pop a notification up in other areas. I ended up turning all those off.

I was on Highway 1, the coast highway in Ca. No signals, no speed zones. Just a 55 mph road. I was probably using Google Maps in Android Auto, is my usual Nav program. As I recall it is not a signal that I have heard before. The Nav program in the truck may have been active, but I didn't set it up on this trip. I am not that familiar with Tom Tom, so I can't speak to what the particulars may be. Some good guesses though. What ever it was, there were no warning alerts or lights to worry about, so I just kept on driving with no other alerts. If it happens again I will post about it, and maybe find the cause. Thanks for your input.

Do you have to open the navigation app for this feature to work?

well when mine does that it is because I have left my turn signal on for too long. took a while to figure it out.

The mystery dinging is now solved. It does have something to do with the on board navigation app. I usually don't use the on board navigation, so the screen is not displayed while driving. But a few days ago it was on during a trip. When the alert went off, it was a alarm from the nav app telling me that fuel was low.

My truck always seems to light the low fuel warning when the gas gauge hits a quarter tank level. This time the nav app alarmed with the 3 dings even before the on board little gas pump lit up on the panel. I have never had a vehicle that set off the low fuel warning until the gauge needle was down to about a 1/8 tank or so. But this one does. The gauge itself is pretty accurate for the amount of fuel that has been used, and when I fill up I can just about guess within a gallon or so of how much fuel it will take based on the position of the gauge needle.

But, mystery over, not a big deal. I can live with it.
