What does shark fin antenna do on 2026 bighorn?

I really would like to remove the shark fin for clearance on my slide-in camper.

It is a 2026 bighorn with level 2 and the small (8.4”?) screen no navigation. I rarely use am/fm and don’t use satellite radio. I also do not use or subscribe to the RAM app.

I assume it is AM/FM and what else would I lose if I ditch it? I read somewhere it is also cellular but cellular for what application?

Thanks

I relocated my shark fin antenna to my dash on my 2024. As far as I can tell it is used for AM/FM, cellular for the Uconnect system (updates, safety features, etc.) and phone, and WiFi hotspot. If you disconnect the cellular it will complain with a message. You may be able to just plug in a hidden cell antenna to satisfy it but I haven't tried.

I have an acquaintance with a 3D printing business and a RAM truck. We discussed removing the HD emblem on the right side of the hood and making an antenna mount for that location. He started working on it but got busy and I haven't followed up on it. He would probably pursue it if he thought there was enough market.

Thank you that answers my main question, which is I can't just disconect it. So you were able to source fakra(?) cables to extend down pillar and onto dash?

I did a write up here:
