Westin HDX Brush Guard

hello all,

i have a 19 2500 that is given to me for work. they have ordered me a westin HDX brush guard with winch plate combo. i have been looking over the online instructions and they are very lacking. i have reached out to westin to see if they have any more material that they could provide me as far as installation goes. got nothing. i was wondering if anyone has installed this brush guard winch plate combo on their 2500? or at the very least, their winch plate as the guard itself just mounts to that. any help would be greatly appreciated. all this being said, it cannot be that complicated so im sure that once i get the guard in that i can stumble my way through i just want to make sure i have as much info going in as possible.

Idk what your missing those instructions are clear as day..... when you get it and start looking at the truck you will see that
 
Once you get that on there, please post some pics of it, hope it goes on easy!
 
install was fine. nowhere in the instructions does it say to remove the bumper brackets from the bumper and install them back onto the truck before installing the braces that actually stick through the bumper. numbers on the pictures showing which hardware goes where dont correspond with what they are on the table. And all around i thought the instructions were poorly written, vague, etc.

as far as the quality of the pieces and fitment of the guard i would say its great. we will see how it holds up over time and report back.

Yes the instructions show it clear as day i checked them out they are very easy to know what needs to be done

Did the guard come with the winch mount or was that an add on?

How heavy are the mounting brackets? I've noticed some brands look like they just use a piece of plate for the bracket and others actually have a boxed in section or gussets.

Alot of brush guard instructions seem to be really simple until you go to install it and see that it doesn't match up. (speaking from experience on my own)
 
Any idea how much weight it adds to the front of the truck?

Thats nothing this plow is about 800 lbs the mount is 60lbs this is just a small plow really compared to some bigger vplows...... 180lbs the truck wont even know its there even with the plow you hardly notice the weight

But I usually pull a 9600lb trailer with up to 15,000 lbs on it. so I'm thinking the extra weight in front of the steer tires will have the steering feel heavy

Nope even with 7-8k on the back when i pull my trailer with the plow you dont feel any extra effort on the steering
 
That's good to know, guess it might have to make it on the mod list for the summer projects. Definatly worth looking into. thanx
 
My SnowEx V-plow is 950 lbs (not sure if that includes the plow frame) and I don't notice any difference in steering. I do carry 600 lbs of ballast in the bed.

No thats just the blade/ headgear the truck mount is about 60lbs with the mount adapters
