Weird ZF trans issue with my 23 PW.

It doesn't like me using either the gear select option or tow/haul mode descending long grades in the mountains of WV.

It throws a gear icon and a service transmission message on the EVIC and goes into limp mode. Never gets hot, runs 167*.

Pull over, put in park, shut off, restart and all is fine. Can't pull a code from the TCM with alfaobd. Says no faults. Last time it happened I took it to the dealer and they couldn't pull a code either. So, I'm getting nowhere fast.

Other than that, it functions flawlessly.

Ideas?

I haven’t had that with my Power Wagon. But I did have a similar issue with a 5.7 Rebel 1500 with the etorque. However, in all the cases where owners had that issue, it threw a code. Ram finally came out with a TSB for it though.

Just an update.

There's a TSB out for this issue. I had it flashed today. It will be a few weeks before I get back to WV to see if it helped.
