What happens with the warranty when a 2022 truck has an accident and it is necessary to replace the whole frame through a frame swap?

What?? The whole frame?? I’ve never heard of that? I would think your warranty would be good as long as it was OEM

Thank you. It is OEM and it will be done at a dodge/Ram facility. I asked because I never had an accident before and it is a $90K + truck. I don’t want to be on the loosing end on this. It was the other party’s fault.

How are they not writing the truck off if the frame has to be swapped?

Major accidents show up in CARFAX and other reporting venues. Make sure you receive compensation for diminished value.

Because new frames are like $4k lol
Yes frames are not that expensive but the labour and other odds and ends its usually cheaper for them to write it off and sell it at auction or at least used to be cheaper

I had a 2016 Ram 1500 Rebel that had exactly this happen to me in 2017. It was a $65k MSRP and the repair was only $12k total, so nowhere near a total. I was rear-ended and it mangled the rear bumper and pushed it in about 2 inches. They said they couldn't straighten the back of the frame so their only solution was to swap it out. It took about 5 weeks total for the repair at the RAM dealer. It never drove the same again, the steering was so loose. I took it back and they said that it was normal. Ended up trading it in a few years later. But to answer your question, it didn't affect the warranty at all, I still had the 3 year / 36,000 mile factory warranty but didn't have any problems in that time.

100% call your insurance comapny and tell them you want compensation for diminished value. They will likely cut a check after a review.
