Wacky Power Fold Mirror

I tried searching for power fold issues but I guess I’m not asking the search bar the right questions. Today I went to check the mail, power folded my mirrors after I parked. When I got back in and power unfolded the mirrors, driver side did it’s job. Passenger side mirror forgot to stop at its station and went all the way to the hood. I’ve been messing with it all day as I’m driving around and I can’t get it to stop in it’s usual spot. It either goes to the folded position or goes all the way to the hood. Ive tried manually adjusting it one way or the other hoping to get it back in sync but no joy. Do any of you fine folks have any advice on what to try? I really don’t want to go back to the dealer service department.….
This is on a 2022 3500 Crew cab Laramie.

Definitely wierd AF. Didn’t think they could power rotate past the ‘’home’’ position. Or I guess it’s pushing hard enough to to pop the break away which is not easy to do. Give an update when you get it repaired as it might help someone else down the line.

I had that happen 1 time to me, I folded the mirrors back in then back out and all was good. It hasn't happened since, so I never had it looked at.

I had something similar happen on my last truck after walking the mirror backing into the garage. It did't go all the way forward, but it did go a bit further than it should have. I was able to fix it by manually positioning the mirror where it should be, and then folding and unfolding.

Check the manual. Seems I remember there is calibration procedure.
"To reset the power folding mirrors: Fold and unfold them by pushing the button (this may require
multiple attempts). This resets them to their normal driving position."

Dealer says they need to take it apart to see what’s going on. But the soonest they can get my 980 mile old truck in to look at it is January 24th….. then they will probably need to order something….. so probably going to be early to mid February until my truck is fully functional again if the parts are even available….. Until Then, looks like I’m using electrical tape to hold the mirror in place and have to do with out folding them. :-/

Mine get messed up due to freezing at times but always seem to sort themselves out. Definitely something not right with yours.

They randomly started working again last night….. not sure what happened… still keeping my appointment for a bit in case they act up again.

These computers on four wheels have their quirks. My tailgate has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it locks; sometimes it doesn't. So does my air conditioner. Most of the time it works, sometimes it doesn't. No sense taking it in to the dealer as they will tell me everything is fine. Certainly the strangest truck I have owned. Don't get me wrong. I love the truck but I think it is haunted. There should be a "REBOOT" button. LOL

I have one that does not move with the power fold act as if someone manually folded it and broke it. Going down the highway it just blows to the closed position.
