Vinyl seat cover durability ?

On our Tradesman we have the diesel gray vinyl heavy duty seat covers according to Ram. I recently covered them with a cloth type seat cover because of the cold feel to them and hot feel also. My question is do others with the same covers have experience of their longevity ? I'm hoping that the cloth seat covers help with wear and tear. I'm also trying the insulation in the window technique to avoid the sun from baking my interior. I seen the custom window coverings to cover the incoming sun and made my own out of the silver insulation material sold at Lowe's. The insulation works great keeping the sun out especially if you don't have a garage or awning.

I’m sure they are designed to be pretty durable since they are on the tradesman (work truck) model that sees plenty of abuse.

Window tint (even light 70-80% stuff) blocks the majority of UV (prevent UV damage/degradation) and help keep the interior cooler in the summer

Yea i have the factory window tint, just trying to keep out that other 20 to 30 % stuff.

I think Factory tint is just darkening but doesn’t do a great job of rejecting heat/uv like a good aftermarket tint… It’s also only on the rear windows not the front windows or windshield

Also I’m confused how you have factory window tint but a tradesman with vinyl seats…thought those were mutually exclusive

Good question Sir. I was looking for the Tradesman because of the weight rating for 2019 models. Our 5th wheel almost maxed out the rating but still legal to haul it. I wanted the quad cab, short wheel base, towing package and the eight speed transmission. My dealer found the truck at another dealer in Dallas. Here is the window sticker with everything on it including the seat covers and window tinting.
