My truck has a rattling/vibration noise at 1500 rpms. 2019 ram 2500 limited with the Cummins. Any ideas where to start? Almost sounds like a heat shield or an exhaust rattle or something. If anyone had something similar and found a fix I’m willing to try.

What gear? Any at 1500 rpm? Or one specific?

Seems to be all gears. Sometimes it doesn’t do it at all. I’m leaning toward it being a heat shield rattling on something and nothing mechanical. But really not sure.

That could be helpful for diagnosis. Get under there on a creeper and have someone rev it to 1500.

I did that. All I heard was engine noise. I don’t think it’s transmission related as I’ve tried all gears and can’t figure it out. Sometimes it happens sometimes I don’t hear it for weeks. It’s freaking weird

I do have a extended warranty but afraid if I take it in for vibrating heat shields it would be a waste of money
