On my 2020 6'4" bed, I get the use of the upper, oval holes (near the stake pockets)...but, what is the intended use of the slots and holes at the rear, bottom sides of the bed?

That is where the Finnigan pin hooks to the Crockazyne valve to give your truck more traction . Just kidding . I have no idea but couldn't help giving a silly answer .

It is not for manufacturing. I stamp and assemble that truck bed and it's grabbed by suction cups. I am not sure why those hold are there though? It does look like something was supposed to be there.

If I am remembering correctly, my 2016 1500 had the anchors in that elongated slot instead of at the bed corner. There was nothing in the small circle.

I was gonna say i was pretty sure its left over from the 4th gen tie down design

My 2020 bed is like your pic.

The OP tie hook is embedded into the rear upright.

What's interesting is my bed also has the same dumb extra tall lip on the left end of the left side joint as shown below. The right side doesn't have this.

I also think the beds on these trucks are all twerked when they're put on the frame during assembly. Little on the truck is worthy of a modern 2020 $90K truck build. Worse fit and finish than my 04 also assembled in Mexico. My 17 year old german car is perfection on fit and finish.

My 6' 4" bed with Rambox has the tie-down anchor mounted in the rectangular slot.
