Upgrade to 14.5" screen?

Anyone look into upgrading to the new 14.5 inch screen? If I'm not mistaken, it was added for the 2025 MY. It's Uconnect 5, but supposedly works faster than the old ones?

I wonder if it would be just a direct swap for those with the appropriate 8.4"/12" Uconnect 5 screens, or an upgrade to Uconnect 5 for those that don't have it as outlined here on the forums. Get the right parts to mount the 14.5" screen, upgrade to Uconnect 5 and you're good to go?

I have it on the 25 and had the 12 inch on a 23. It's NOT any faster and features are basically the same.

The speed increases are more likely from marketing info related to the electrical architecture. I've also seen no real world advantage to that as an end user.

I guess I'm becoming that old geezer. When I found my 2021 1500, I searched hard for 3.92 gears, 8.4 radio, and non e-torq. When I traded for my new to me 2024 2500 6.4, I didn't want anything bigger than the 8.4 radio. Sorry, rant over, I think

Thanks for the info. I've read some posts in the meantime that lead me to believe it's not actually possible to retrofit it into the old trucks without a complete replacement of the architecture.
