Will the wifi signal provided as part of the uconnect subscription be strong enough to reach out into an attached travel trailer?

I would think so. A general rule is about 50 feet transmit distances, but add walls, interference, etc that drops.

It will I have it and use it in my garage (truck parked outside)

Ignorant question... what is the value of the wifi hotspot considering cellphones have their own connectivity? If you wanted to browse the internet on a non-cellular device, you could use the mobile phone's hotspot to connect.

I'm sure I must be missing some key use case?

The antenna is outside the vehicle and improve reception.

It might reach into a TT, you can try. But also keep in mind the truck has to be on for it to work. :-)

I use mine for cameras (WiFi) I have a box that is android based that connects to Apple CarPlay and can view multiple cameras on my truck screen . I have a tradesman.

I also use it to watch the dish app on truck screen . Can watch my football game while the wife and kids shop

Hotspots usually have a fee.

The phone plan doesn't have a hot spot.

we've had the free trial wifi on a couple Tahoes...GM's version has a stronger signal than our cell phones (would suspect Ram's would be the same way) and we'd use it when we were in areas with poor reception (salesman rattled off some "signal strength" numbers how the signal on the Tahoe was significantly stronger than our phones....and for once - in practice it seemed true

Liked the functionality of it, but just not worth the $$ for the few times service was an issue...not sure how Ram's pricing structure competes

I have it on my ram , it’s through AT&T it does have better signal than my cell phone which is Verizon. I had this same plane on my bronco it was unlimited usage for 15.00 a month. I called them up when my trial ended and they matched what I was paying for on the bronco, the 15.00 per month unlimited. It works in some areas my phone won’t .

The difference in signal strength is due to the carrier, not all carriers use the same cell towers which is why one may have better reception than another.

This is the box plugs into usb for car play. You can download any app on it . Dish app , Netflix, Hulu, etc. I use my WiFi on the truck and can view it, even while driving (not that I do that). Works great. I use it for WiFi camera also to hitch my fifth wheel. Camera has app , stick the camera on the roof , it has a magnetic base.
