why do these gauges not work?

Because of poor software I'm assuming. My gauges work 30% of the time seems like. Not sure if it ever will get fixed properly

Thanks for the reply. This is disappointing. I also have a Tesla and the software and features are damn near flawless!

I've had my 2023 PW since Dec 2023 and I've gone to that page maybe a dozen times and none of them have ever worked for me.

Just purchased a 2024 14 miles on it. Having the same problem.. Works when it wants to, also light check has only worked once since I've had it. Now have 800 miles on .. Stopped at dealer service manager plugged into but still waiting for answers.‍♂️

if you have the digital instrument panel, the oil temp gauge "sorta" works.

Digital part works, but the blue ring doesn't... fun and games...

The off-road gauges always seem to work.

The trailer towing gauges have a cycle of working, not working, working - but showing different gauges than the last time they worked. Some times the second page is voltage, and sometimes its the exhaust brake.

If they really wanted to improve them: (besides fixing the glitch)
- all of the scales would match what's on the main insrument panel.
- all of the fonts would match what's on the instrument panel.
- you could pick and choose what shows up on the 12" display. Don't know why there is a second page, with only one gauge... kind of stupid.

Well yesterday I Rebooted the stereo.
Press the volume and tune knobs and wait for
Screen to go black, and reboot.

I am finally not getting widget failed to load message on corner of gauge screen.

Screen has worked throughout the days- 5 starts /stops without any help from me!

Well… that lasted for two days.

But the widget doesn’t show the loading error in the top left of screen.

Hello, we have a 2024 Ram 3500 Laramie mega cab with the 12" uconnect and have the same issues with the gauges working intermittently. We have taken it to the dealer 3 times already. They did a soft restart twice, the gauges worked when we drove away. Three days later the quit working. Took it in again so they could see that they weren't working. They just documented it and did nothing. The next day, I did a factory reset and had to reload all of my settings and repair our phones again. The gauges worked for 2 days and then quit working again. Since then it has been working intermittently with random gauges working/not working. On the Off Road page with the 5 gauges, they consistently all work just like the instrument cluster. We just made an appt for the 4th time and the dealer says in order to escalate a ticket up to Dodge, they have to have the vehicle to open a ticket/case. So, we will be taking the truck in once again. Dealer also said that he has not heard of this issue. I find that hard to believe after reading so many others on here with similar problems.

Update on our 3500. Took the truck in on Friday, Feb 21, 2025. Since we hadn't heard anything from them, we called the Dealer today , Feb 25, 2025, and was told it's a software issue and they are waiting for an update to come out soon. We asked if they could just swap out our uconnect for another one and was told no. So, the truck sat on their lot for 4 days and WE have to call them to find out the status? poor customer service. and we are just supposed to "live" with the unit working sometimes? That's horrible! They sell these half working uconnect units in these vehicles and there is nothing they will do. So sad that you spend what we spent on our 3500 and doesn't matter to Dodge that it's not working properly. It's only 6 months old and still under warranty...... and why does it say Trailer Connected when no trailer is hooked up to our truck?

Hey @RamCares there are many of us with this problem.
Gauges on connect are often blank.
Oil temp gauge on digital instrument panel is just numbers, no ring, yet on 12” connect, it shows a ring.
Scales are different between screens.
Fonts don’t match screens..

Just picked up a new to me 2024 2500, 13K miles. Same exact issue with the gauges, as someone else mentioned the off-road gauges seem to work while the trailer towing page does not, I have not had a chance to cmopare all the numbers as I just found the page in the driveway and haven't been out driving it since then. Was having issues with the climate control, did a soft restart and those have been working since... Let's keep this updated!!

Same here. 2024 2500, purchased in February, 800 miles. Same issue here as well. Gauges in uConnect system do not show data. Useless.

Update 4/14 ***See update Below, Still an issue!*** Guages all now working as expected. They were quirky for a bit. Now at 1400 miles I found the vehicle was delivered with the negative cables on both batteries very loosely connected. Maybe they do this for storage and forgot to tighten? Tightened that up a bit and so far all of the quirks have disappeared. Before that I experienced the issue with non working guages, odd white boxes on the lower part of console when selecting tabs, nonworking buttons on left side of steering wheel (front and back), heater not working on steering wheel, screen going black and unresponsive, ac stopping, etc. Now all of that seems to be have been resolved after tightening the negative cables on the batteries.

***UDATE***
Issue is still there. Black screen, total lockup, data slow to load to gauges if it loads all. BUT, you can do the reboot with the dial and all comes back fairly quickly. Shouldn’t have to do this but all its all I got until RAM figures it out.

cc’ing @RamCares

Same issue since the day I bought my 2024 Ram 2500 in June. It now has 15,000 miles and is at the dealer now for the 3rd time with the trailering gauges not working, Apple Carplay intermittently not working, trailer light check not working, I have had my screen go completely black and cannot get it to come back on. I have given the dealership pictures, videos of all of this and have a case open with Ram customer care. I am about to file a lemon law. One time I had to take it in because the screen had what they called a phantom where the A/C set temperature would jump to 79 deg F and freeze the screen. I would have to pull over, turn the truck off and back on for the screen to reset. this was really bad in the 98 deg summer when the heater kicked on full blast. They replaced the screen and head unit but the gauge issue and the Carplay issue still exists.

"Trailer towing data screen inop " is another thread on here with same issue.
