I have a 2021 Ram 5500 that I swapped from a 8.4 inch UC4 to a 12” UC5. Since the swap, things have been a bit wonky. Here’s a list of the things that it’s doing:
- using CarPlay, Spotify sometimes will cut in and out for 2 or 3 seconds then play again, almost as if a cd is skipping (maybe a connection issue?)
- the Nav most of the time is a mile to 100 miles off of my actual location. Sometimes when using Apple Maps or google maps and it’s not connected to the UC5 everything is working normal and great but then when I connect it loses my location (1 mile to 100s of miles off).
- the HVAC controls don’t work correctly. It will randomly increase fan speed. And it only blows either cold or hot, no in between.

I bought the screen and the radio module as new and there were no indications that it was anything but a brand new system. When I installed it I didn’t have to put in a radio code of any kind. Jimmy07 has been great and initially told me what settings I needed to change in JSCAN. Below is what I’ve changed per Jimmy07:

JScan > adaptations > miscellaneous settings > hvac configuration > dual zone ATC

Adaptations > modules cabin network add/remove > dcsd display screen module > active

Adaptations > modules cabin network add/remove > ICS integrated center stack > deactivated

JScan > modules > body controller > configuration > model year > 2022

Does anyone have any ideas on what I can try to correct these issues? Any help is appreciated. Thanks

For the navigation issue check your GPS antenna connector. When an iPhone is connected to CarPlay it uses the vehicle GPS instead of the phone GPS.
