Took my truck in to get a couple TSB's completed prior to warranty expiring, told them the issues and also gave them the TSB #'s. Service writer and Tech said they could not find the TSB's and that they could not complete them since they are not tied to the VIN of my truck. This is the first I have heard that excuse. Has anyone else heard this? Are the TSB's VIN tied like recalls? They were also curious as to how I got the paperwork for the TSB's since they are "not publicly accessible".

TSBs are readily available from NHTSA...
Some TSBs may be VIN specific or your vehicle must fall within the certain parameters set by the manufacturer...

That is exactley how I thought it worked. Truck meets model year and model, build date before xxx, and has xxx option, shouldn't be any question on do or don't do. Service writer was new, so I'll give him a little slack, but the Technician should know better, hes been there for years.

I had the same issue when I took my truck in for the remote start/unlock issue. The TSB listed build dates which mine fell under but they said when they ran my vin it said mine did not fall under that tsb. They wanted to replace rf hub and both key fobs instead which were on backorder. I had been waiting at least 2 months and still the parts were not in. I showed them my build date on the door jamb and told then it clearly met the criteria and the tsb said "do not replace the RF Hub" and they reluctantly did the software update and it has been flawless ever since. My service writer has been there for at least 10 years.

Dealer is now telling me the sales codes on my truck have an extra letter compared to what the TSBs call out, sales code description is the same. @RamCares , what is the difference between HAA and HAAS (TSB #24-001-20) or LSU and LSUP (TSB #08-012-20)?

HAA S- manual temperature controls STANDARD equipment.
LSU P- forward collision warning PART of a package.

Thank you Jimmy! I figured it had to be something like that, just didn't know how. Time to educate them. The service writer and tech seem to think no one can know as much as they do and they are always right.
