TSB's and Various updates

I am not a fan of the service crews typically associated with the menial tasks of oil changes etc. I am VERY particular and detail oriented which is not compatible with most dealership services. I.e. I typically do not want the dealership to do any maintenance to my vehicles and only want warranty work and updates. My question is how can one find out what TSB's and non-critical updates are available? I would like to know when updates come out for my truck and take it in specifically to receive them. I do not want to be forced to take it in for sub-par maintenance services like oil changes just to have the opportunity to discover updates available. Any advice?

I found the TSB's related to the EGR valve malfunction via the NHTSA recall database (also shows TSBs). I only found it that way though I had the symptoms of that issue (specific CEL code).

Manufacturers aren't going announce TSBs like they do for safety recalls, you will have to search for it periodically. If you're not having issues with anything, then it isn't worth your time.
