Hey everyone, i have a 2019 Ram 2500, and the AC kinda sucks. After researching there is a TSB out for this 24-001-20. I have two questions when it comes to this. 1) I am out of my Bumper to Bumper but i am still within my PT warranty. Can i have this done free of charge still ( im doubtful). 2) Does this TSB really fix the problem, has anyone had it done before? What have been your results?Capture.PNG

There are a couple of threads on this subject...
If you are out of your Basic it is highly unlikely the RAM will approve the dealer to do the work though you can certainly try.

I had this done on and while it did improve the AC, it still isn't great.
I think most would agree with that statement.

Many owners installed this aftermarket kit to shut off hot water flow to the heater core. I know it seems a little hokie on a nice truck but if you've had the dealer repair completed and still don't have the A/C that you should, then I guess it works. Big trucks have had shutoff valves under the hood for years and years. Some guys also expressed concern in taking their truck to the dealer to have the entire dash removed. I would have that concern as well.

I think you’d be out of luck, but it can’t hurt to ask. I knew about the tsb while in warranty but opted to do the shutoff instead. I didn’t go with muzzy but lots have. It does drop the temp 8-10 degrees.

I wouldn't mind, but i have heard mixed results after this fixed is performed. What do they actually do? Im just wondering if i have to pay, is it worth?

Without going and re-reading, I believe the TSB calls for a new airbox, hence the need to remove the dash. Supposedly, the original airbox has air leaks that allow hot air from the heater core to mix with A/C air. I could be a bit off but I believe that's mostly the main gist of it all.

I guess the question for me is. Has people who have done it, noticed major gains or not really?

I also see a lot of people with the by-pass valve, wouldnt that cause future issues with the heater core as the inhibitor falls our of suspension?

There's also a hack running in the AC Fix TSB thread that involves adding resistance to the evap temp sensor to fool the system.

Also, the current TSB is 24-013-21

Discussion on 5thgenrams seems to be around $2,000 out of pocket as it's mostly labor.
Thats an interesting hack. I cant seem to find much on it besides the videos you shared. I rather do this than install the "bypass-Hack" Im concerned about clogging up my heater core, for the winter.

2K seems like a lot, and it doesnt seem like there is much improvement.

I saw your link to the dialed resistor, going to check that out, just need to figure out how to install it.

Might have to read back a few posts but they're adding resistance in parallel with the evap temp sensor.

One thing that does help a ton is toss the cabin air filter. Its not for everyone but over the last quite a few decades i have not had many vehicles that had a filter so im ok with it being out. Lol

Major gains? No.
Is it better? Yes... maybe 50% improvement?
