Got around to installing the box... I wanted a solution that didn't involve removing my tonneau cover and would be ideal for camping/trips.

The instructions were super easy and this install took maybe 20 minutes. I'd say it is very versatile in the sense that most tonneau covers accept the addon. I can slide lumber under the box, it's lockable, can be adjusted against the cab or to virtually anywhere within the bed and is waterproof. It'll even hold ice and drinks should that be required.

Anyway, enough blabbing, here are the pics:

I just installed mine, was pretty easy and love that it's hidden from prying eyes under my rolling cover. Is that the TruXedo TruxPort cover? That's what I have.

Also, how far to the rear were you able to mount the tonneauMate? The clamps that come with it don't work for securing the cover rails so I could only go back as far as the rear-most clamp for my cover. I thought about removing the cover clamps and moving the tonneauMate rails closer to the bulkhead/cab and reinstalling the cover clamps over the tonneauMate rails so I could get the tonneauMate a little farther to the cab end of the bed.

I'm currently running the Gator roll, but will eventually shift toward a retractable. I ran into the same issue that you did, I think. In the end, I removed the cover clamps closest to the cab and tucked the TonneauMate rails a bit further back before utilizing those clamps. I still have the two extra tonneau cover clamps just sitting in my garage. The pics don't do it justice, but I was able to get the box tucked so close to the cab (6 inches) that the open lid against the rear window became my biggest point of contention, if anything.

Looks great, turned out nicely. I’m a big fan of the Truxedo products. I have/had the LoPro GT on 3 different trucks. I’m envious after seeing how great your project turned out and heading to Amazon to see what’s up. I get tired of lugging the tool box in and out of the truck when we trailer the camper. That looks like a great solution to my first world problems :)
