Truck won't remote start in temperatures below zero

Two days in a row my truck won't remote start when the temperature outside is below zero. What might cause that? Not a diesel. I press the button on FOB twice and it blinks the first time but not on the second push. I tried my spare FOB with remote start button but it won't do it either.

Does it start when you get in the truck and start it with the Dash button? If yes, then the truck doesn't like something as it is going through its pre-remote start checks. My 16 wouldn't remote start if the low fuel light was on, a door or the tailgate was open, or i believe if the backup fob was in the truck. Does your truck have the check engine line on, that could also cause it not to remote start?

No lights or anything. Truck wont remote start if there is low fuel, or the hood is open. Maybe you have a bad sensor?

So to remote start it I have to press the button twice. I press it once and the light blink then I press second time and nothing. With the push button inside the car it starts but it sounds like the oil is gunky and it have a hard time starting. No lights on the dashboard or any message. All the doors locked and tank is 3/4 full. I tried last night and it didn't start. Tried this morning and it didn't start. I had to take a walk in my pajamas in -5 degrees. It wasn't comfortable at all. I will try afternoon and see if it will start

If light blinks once then there is an issue that is causing truck not to start. Going to need to take it in.

I wonder if it had anything to do with the USB plugs I put it over the weekend.

very well could if you tapped into the door panel wires like the video. Might be sensing the door locks not working correctly. Not sure what you mean the oil sounds gunky tho?

one thing is in new vehicles with canbus any little thing can cause issues when it comes to messing with wiring.

I assume it won't start with button too then. What I mean by saying gunky is the engine have hard time turning over

the difference would be the doors do not have to be locked with the push bottom vs the remote. Not sure just a thought. -5 is not that cold and your truck should be running 0W40 synthetic so the oil should not be the issue. Sounds like a low battery. Maybe you ran it down doing your install. Put it on a charger and bring it up and see how it does. Does yours have an engine block heater if so plug it in.

A hemi does not run 5w-40...

It's 16 degrees outside right now in Chicago. I just remote started the truck no problem from second story window. Will try tomorrow morning again. Have to get up for work at 3:00am I'm pretty sure it's go to be cold outside

Batteries produce less cranking amps when its cold. I have the stock dual 770 CCA batteries in my diesel and they were damn near dead at 2 degrees today after being fine yesterday. Barely got it cranked and voltage reading didn't stabilize until 10 minutes into warm up.

My '21 6.7 will beep once and not start if I have a door ( ajar ) not fully closed.
